By the way, Gato means "cat", in portuguese.

Is Ki going to be an album that syncs up with the movie Contact? (Similar to the way The Wizard of Oz and I believe The Dark Side of the Moon did)

I was just thinking, because not only are there tv screens in the recording studio but when the space pod thing hits the water, the song hits at the same time. Probably just a coincidence, but wouldn't hurt to wonder.

Cool,

whats the best settings for export to youtube?

I've got a canon hf11, and I can't get the youtube size right, it's not wide enough...(it has some weird black frame)

Also, I use 'log and transfer' to load the camera stuff, but all of a sudden, it stopped working...all the info is still on the camera, and it shows up on my desktop as a drive, but it's not being recognized in the log and transfer...all the settings are cool in final cut I think...

Super frustrating...I have a ton of studio stuff on there and it's stuck...

Any thoughts?

Youtube takes HD quality now, so optimal settings are as high as possible :D

Damn technology!

It is as they say,
"To err is human, if you really wanna fuck things up, use a computer".

Back in the day if your TV or VHS wasn't working you could just look at it funny, slap it a few times and hey presto!
You try that with your laptop it'll just delete the hard drive and kill itself. Still though, when they work, it's pretty sweet.
Hang in there man, don't let the little buggers get you down.

It seems that for whatever reason, sometimes it can take ages to load up the files properly. Some people are waiting 30s to a minute, while some people are waiting 10 for it to load the files into log and transfer. So err, leave it, go make a cup of tea and see what happens? :P

If all else fails you can import your clips with imovie, and drag the clips into final cut to edit. I've got a canon HG20, sort of in the same family of cameras as yours, and I also have this problem. But make sure you're exporting your vids in FCP in an HD resolution, I would recommend 720x1080 and you wont have the cut off problems, and your vids will be in HD!

Our TV used to do that! It would usually not give sound when turned on (was like 20 years old), I'd slap it a few times and it'd work.

Until I slapped so hard the picture disappeared, too :(

If, from your videos, that's where you live...it's beautiful!

I live in Coventry...England...it's all city and smog....nice history though, lots of old Medieval buildings...

My finace lives in a nice place...She lives in a place called South Normaton in Derbyshire....outside her stairs window are the Derbyshire Dales.....gorgeous! I'm thinking of moving up there when I get married

Great to hear and see that stuff Dev, looks (and sounds) fantastic!
