Oh dear, it appears that Dev has become a small shizu. How much will this effect the music, I wonder?

Oh, I could come up with so many bad puns if given the time. I'll resist temptation. :P

I'm going to have to look into the water theory thing, as that sounds interesting. And Synesthesia is interesting too. I don't get colours and things, but I can get whole images from music, and words. I'm sure thats more a case of having an overactive imagination. :P

Theres a lot of science based stuff which seems to be flying around this album at the moment...

Ohhhh I see what you did there. :P

So moving back on to Ki:
Yay!
That's the only thing I can think of to say right now. :D

Am I the only one to ever hypothesize that "Ki" might be a double-entendre of sorts? Since "Ki" sounds like "key"... in true Dev-nerd fashion, I came across this idea because every time I hear the word "key" (or in this case "Ki") it makes me think of "There's only one key to unlock the door..." So, yeah: put that in your mouth and chew it. It's delicious. Or maybe really lame. :)

Also, Amber, I am excited to find Malice Mizer on your Recently Listened to list. They're an amazing band that no one's ever heard of. Maybe it's just 'cause I live in the U.S. though.

I think we are going to get on well :P
Malice Mizer are fantastic. So underrated though. The newer 'generation' of Jrock fans are all about Alice Nine, and that. Maybe I'm just crazy. =/ Gackt Era is most definitely my favourite though.

I've actually never heard of Alice Nine- I only know Malice Mizer, a bit of Moi Dix Mois, and snippets of other J-Rock bands that have mostly broken up by now. As far as I know, the only J-Rock band anyone's heard of around here is Dir en Grey. But I suppose we should swing this conversation back to Ki, shouldn't we? Which I am rather salivating over.

Anyone know if Dev has discussed the release of KI with inside out or any other labels? :D

I think this is going to be a purely HDR release. I may be wrong, but I seem to remember his saying that it's going to be an online release (maybe just the EP?).

Devin -- probably an artist you've mentioned elsewhere a time or twenty, but if you've not yet checked out Steven Wilson's newest disc Insurgentes, I think you'd dig it. I've noticed a lot of stylistic similarities between you and him -- including influences, layered & textured mixes, outside production styles, and division of creations into projects -- over the years, and consistently find the two of you at the top of my 'most-played' playlists. A lot of his work with Porcupine Tree, especially In Absentia and Lightbulb Sun, are worth a listen too.

Parallel thought -- any chance of ever seeing 5.1/DTS mixes of any of your music? Especially Ocean Machine, Terria, or Accelerated Evolution? (Not to imply that those are your best works or not -- but of your catalog, those are the three with the strongest emotional resonance and - erm, therapeutic muscle memory? for me).

Looking forward to Ki.

Ha Ha, I recall mentioning this very idea to Dev in the mid 90's, was wondering if was coming across a bit eccentric and weird, good to know some-one else is thinking the same thing. The notion came to me when learning about Faster than Light particles as described by Seth (Jane Roberts).

I had a dream last night (after a lot of jack and cokes) and Dev was playing some beautiful music in a cloud in the sky, no drums just huge clean guitar sounds with loads of layers of keys, sounded really dreamy kind of like "away" from A.E...

 hope im not just mental...

I was looking at pics of guitars at namm last night just before i went to bed, and i dreamt that i had been in a huge guitar store and got loads of different guitars, and then taken them home and had a play on them. then i was so happy and i had Devs new amp and all his guitars etc, Then i was told i had to pick 3 items to keep and all the rest had to go back and i was devastated. lol
I woke up and looked around, seeing my room was not full of expensive gear and thought fuck and went back to sleep:(
lol
