and oh, well...Ki has leaked and isn't sucks AT ALL - maybe people won't get it, but it's NOT old DTB stuff, neither SYL, it's brand new beautiful true stuff. I'll buy the awesome special edition ASAP.

This is to the people upset about the leak. Let's think about it like this, there are basically two types of people who have downloaded/will be downloading it:

1. People who plan to buy the album, but are downloading it out of sheer excitement because they want to hear the new material as soon as possible. These people will still be buying the album once it's released.

2. People who just want the album for free. If the album wasn't leaked, they would simply wait until after the release date and download it then.

I think it's safe to say that most of the people who post on this forum would fall into the former category. We live in a time where virtually any piece of media can be obtained for free with minimal effort, it's been that way for a while now. All things considered it really doesn't change much. The people that wanted to buy the album will still buy the album, and the people that were just planning on downloading it will still download it, leak or not. I doubt the leak has changed anyone's purchasing decision (unless they downloaded it and disliked it I suppose, but that's something else altogether really.)

Are there any plans to make a special edition of Ki, or is it just going to be a basic release?

I highly doubt there will be a special edition since it's also going to be released in the 8-CD boxset along with the other 3 upcoming albums. I 'reckon that'll be the "special release" version for all of them.

I just think it is funny that people feel they need to explain themselves about the leak.....

lol no guilty conscience here. Sometimes, you gotta download. Like, I can't find Ass-Sordid Demos I and II, Hummer, Devlab, or Punky Bruster ANYWHERE, except for HevyFevy website. However, paypal has been having some hacker issues so there's no way I'm purchasing them from HevyDevy at this time. Had to download em. I have everything Dev's ever made now, with the exception of the Vai album and Punky Bruster. I'll buy the four I didn't buy eventually, when all is safe and hackers are nowhere to be seen.
