Had my first listen. I haven't even turned the lights back on and don't want to do ANYTHING right now because that was such a soulful experience for me. The energy Devin had during the making of this album must have conducted in some way because I feel like I wasn't just taken to places and shown things, but subliminally changed. For one, I feel like the experience has given me a much needed boost of strength towards the goal of cutting extraneous soulsucking bullshit from my life.

I also really liked the sound of the album. I've been waiting something like 8 years to hear songs that really do a good job presenting mellow clean chords in a way that lets me appreciate the resonance and harmony within them to the fullest extent, and I feel Ki did it!

So I drive to work (bearing in mind I am on holiday) to pick up Ki which i hoped had been delivered there.
When I got there I realised I had left my wallet at home so couldn't get into the office.
But, like Ki, I remained calm and simply drove home, got my wallet, went back and now I have it in my hands with a Dev signature and smiley thank you note.
All's well that ends well.

I agree...if this happened to me and it were a few months ago, I would have been punching my dashboard and cursing God for always f-ing with me. Now I have some serenity.....and Ki is part of that.

I got my pre orders and I just want to thank Devin for creating such a personal, honest, top quality work of art and delivering it customized straight to our ears, mind and spirit for almost nothing. I'll jus take it as it is and enjoy it...

No wonder why my lovely girfriend thinks I'm a little bit too fond of this once long haired Artist.

That's pretty cool actually. The other Devin releases to break into Finnish top 50 were Synchestra (33, only for one week), The New Black (17, stayed for 3 weeks) and The Chaos Years (32, one week).

So it's a slight improvement from last solo releases! Guess I should get it now to help it stay for another week... The bad thing is that I have absolutely no money (that's less than 1€ for ya, both bank and cash together) til' I get my pay next month.

There sure is a lot of negative comments in here about Ki. It's pretty bad when an artist has to come into his own FAN FORUM and defend himself. Ki is amazing in it's own right. Stop trying to compare it to his other releases. I don't think Dev sits around wondering which of his albums he wants to copy. If you don't like it, why do you feel the need to come in here and bash the production and the songwriting? I mean nickelfag has a forum, why don't you go in there and hang out instead?

It's probably me, but I think I don't see a lot of the negativity that you apparently do, so I can't really tell where that rant came from.

I don't agree with the criticisms other people have made of the album, but a the same time this is a discussion forum. There's absolutely no point in having a discussion if it's just going to consist of people who hold one opinion circle jerking each other, instead of people expressing a range of different opinions. As long as people aren't being dicks about it, I don't see what the problem is.

I think Devin has been making music long enough not to lose heart or stop making music, because some random person on the internet expresses a negative opinion about it. You can't spend months touring, playing your songs to crowds of people every night, if you don't have some kind of confidence in what you're doing.

I imagine he probably listens to peoples' opinions, as I'm sure it's interesting to get other peoples' perspective on something you've created, but at the end of the day, I doubt very much that he's making music to impress other people, more because he feels the need to express something, and that's what he wanted to express at that particular point in time.

It would be very strange indeed if there were only positive remarks about the album. Just let everybody form their opinion, as long as you explain your findings

I for one really dig this album, listening to it right now in fact. I've been feeling like shit for the past few weeks, cried like a baby after I saw The Curious Case of Benjamin Button an hour ago (the movie, however great, had only little to do with that).
And this is the music that keeps me going. The world needs more honest ex-skullet bald artists

And again on page 77. Nothing is wrong with it, but why come here and post it. Why even be on the forum if all your going to do is talk down about the artist who owns the forum? If your not a producer/engineer, what do you know about the sound of the album anyways?
