Talk about that in a bit...just need to wrap my head around a plan...

Webber was essential to me, because as a kid growing up in the 70's all those musicals (cliche as they were and as hard as they are to watch now) were written with VERY broad strokes of emotion....this is what HAPPY sounds and looks like, this is what SAD and ANGRY sounds and looks like, and as an 8 year old kid, it was very easy to relate to, and basically taught me an immense amount of translating those emotions into sound...West Side Story etc...

I personally think that Jesus Christ Superstar was a very emotional soundtrack, and when they made it, they were all in their 20s and pretty hungry...overdone? Yeah, for sure...but it definitely was good training.

What would I get for donating my kidney in the name of Devin Townsend?

I'm always in down town San Diego so I'll pass out some fliers/demos and whatever else while I'm there. People are generally friendly here so I don't think too many will get thrown out before giving it a chance. We also have a lot of pretty cool venues down here where I can pass them out after shows. A lot of my friends I'm sure will help. Just let me know when you need all of my information and I'll be sure to do my part.

Austin is pretty receptive, since it's filled with college kids trying to be as independent and collectively different as possible. I know perfect spots to street team here, too--plenty of exposure.

Oh definitely. That's about the scene here too. With everyone's enthusiasm, I think his grooves can be heard all over the place. :D

Poor choice of words? :P

 Oh probably so! California = fires, earthquakes, flash floods, mudslides at least in the south...

I was mainly pointing out the wildfires over the past two summers... :P

But yeah. Street teaming seems like it'll be fun. I mean, I already go out and hand out flyers and put up posters for local shows... why not do it to promote Dev's shit? :P

Hmm I've only just noticed this by looking at the 'Ki' Poster/cover.

Are you into spiritual/psychic healing by any chance Dev? Or interested in?

It just reminded me of the visualisation work you do when performing healing on people...

Infact, it's exactly what I envision.
Strangeness...

You Brits are so weird...You live in a country that is smaller than some states here in the US, and it's like you guys are so secluded from all other parts of your country...It's just weird to me.

Another Finn reporting to take her share!
I am located

I actually work at a popular rock wear/gear store, so that is a really good place to spread the word.
I play the music I want, I decorate the walls with cool posters we get from our foreign company friends.. Hell, I have an awesome job
I could even put a banner into our website, hmmm..

And I think I have missed stuff too, because I've been avoiding MySpace (don't ask why)
But I found out that there are some really good looking chicks, so I might un-avoid it in the future.
Well, of course Dev's new stuff is a reason to go there too :D

Everything is expensive to do here though, my sister lives like, 68 miles from me, a return train journey would cost me over £50. Living in general is extortionate, so people don't travel as much.

Funny thing is though if you book it in advance, and have a young persons rail card you'll pay a fraction of that price (well, probably anyway! Thats how it usually works :P )

I'll help in LA.....the san fernando valley area and hollywood as well. I printed a bunch of the posters from the myspace and posted them in my college today (around 30 or so) in the musical arts building and science centers (bunch of Devin science nerds like me out there!) hopefully that will catch some attention. My friend is an editor of sickdrummer magazine and underground violence web magazine and I'll ask him if he can put an ad in there for ya Dev.
