... anyway, I know what you mean. People desperatly want to share their enthousiasm about certain bands with you, so they just kinda force it on you. I have the same with Dream Theater; even though I think they're a cool band, I really only like two or three albums. Well, tell this to a hardcore Dream Theater fan... I'm not saying they're all the same ofcourse, but I've heard many times before, that I can't 'appreciate the geniuses John Petrucci inc., and that I'm just jealous and have a shitty taste in music'.
Finding someone to be a genius is also a matter of taste, and whether you are a musician, know many bands, etc, etc. Some people will find Meshuggah geniuses, other people, who listen to different genres, like classical music, will think Beethoven and Mozart were geniuses. (as you can tell, I really know A LOT about classical music, naming only the two most popular names).
