Just out of curiosity, does anyone know where the little line at the beginning of Home Nucleonics comes from? Im not sure if it's been discussed or not.

I believe the line you are talking about is "the beat starts here" ?

If so, when the song is played live Dev will say something like this: "Ladies and Gentlemen, WHERE DOES THE BEAT START?!?!"...straight after Dev says that, the sound crew play that exact line you are talking about

I'm guessing you already know that though...
but as for where it comes from, I don't know

On "For those aboot to rock" he goes like this:

"We ask you this onepointed question: Where does a beat start?"
Then he bends his head backwards and the tape is heard "The beat starts here".

I think this man is searching for the orign of "The beat starts here".

There a lots n lots n lots of little clips and samples throughout all of Dev's work that i'd love to know where they came from...

Mostly Discovery Channel IIRC.
