Hi all
I am hoping that may be Devin reads this? My husband and I promised our son whom is 11 and a mad Devin fan & great drummer - that when Devin played in Brisbane or the gold coast we would take him - and unfortunately its an over 18 gig - my husband and I have tickets for the concert on my birthday 12/3/2010 - Just woundering if theirs anyway I can get my son into the gig - or a sound check anything he is a hugh fan - ps I've never been on one of these sites before - so can someone please advise??? I'll pay - Alex has love Devin since he first us playing stapping young lad - he's a hugh fan.

I believe this is a legal issue for venues. Hopefully Devin can do something about this somehow? That would be cool of him, but don't expect much.

You realise Dev might say 'fuck' in there?! Are you sure you want to expose your son to that sort of filth?! ;)

Not gonna lie, when I was 16 I flew to Adelaide to see my fav band because I was 16 and the Melbourne show was over 18, and there was no way i was getting in as i didnt have a fake ID or look close to 18.

So to say it straight, they wont let him in. Hes not 18 hes gonna have to sit it out. It sucks, but thats the way it goes.

Call the venue and ask if your son can come in if he's with his parents.

This may work.

Seeing as how he's a fan already, I imagine he already listens to Dev/SYL so chances are it won't be the first time he'd hear such filth. And if I remember right on this latest tour, Dev wasn't very foul on stage like he used to be.

Yes, this might actually work.

I've played gigs at pubs (in Melbourne) that allow children if a parent is accompanying.

I had a friend whos mum and dad had to come to all her gigs when her band started gigging because she was only 17 (it was in WA).... I would check with the venue, it will depend on how their license is set up.
