In it, I started a project where I would listen to every Devin Townsend song from OM to Addicted 10 times each in a row. As expected, many were uninterested and a good deal agreed that it was a project that would go nowhere. The thread got locked. In the meantime, I've been keeping up this project pretty religiously. I am currently listening to song 45 (yes, that means I've listened to 44 Dev songs 10 times in a row now). Anyway, my reasoning for posting this at the halfway mark (about 94 songs between OM and Addicted) is because I've decided that I'm going to turn this meaningless-to-thou project into something that might entertain some of you.
Starting as soon as after I've listened to all Dev songs 10 times each, I'm going to organize all of the songs into a ranking (something I've already began) and I will share with you my ranking. But rather than simply posting a list of Best-to-worst Devin songs, I'm going to be doing lengthy writeups for each song in a countdown manner. I've done it with both Porcupine Tree and Dream Theater in the past, but never to such an extent as the one I'm putting into the Devin Townsend list.
Likewise, I wanted to request permission from the admins and Dev himself that, when this project of mine is completed, if I could potentially make a thread here called "The Top 94 Devin Townsend Songs" and count them down. I only ask permission due to the fact that the initial thread was locked (but, of course, there were no plans then).
Anyway, thanks for reading all of that. I'm excited to be doing this project as I've come closer to a LOT of Devin Townsend songs that I was previously not as acquainted with. This has been a great experience so far and I can't wait to deliver.
