Am I the only one out there that feels this way?

Does anyone else enjoy Ki more than Addicted x100 like I do? I don't think Addicted isn't a bad record at all. Its very very solid for sure and has some amazing moments...but when it comes down to it for me Ki just on every level kills it. I just kinda feel a bit left out on all this excitement over Addicted. What hasn't it hit me like it has others? I must be missing something....

I've listened to Addicted 11 times at the moment and maybe it will take months for it to finally connect with me but blah. Am I the only one that feels this? :(

Addicted did make me appreciate Ki more, but I wouldn't say I enjoy it more than Addicted.

Addicted is something I didn't even realize I wanted, and honestly the last 3 tracks are some of the strongest stuff ever.

Ki is great, amazing for what it is

Addicted is just amazing.

You're not the only one, I agree.

I'm one to think that both albums were flawed (despite my Addicted review. I should have given the album more of a listen) and probably albums which didn't compare up to the year's better releases.

I'm more looking forward to the next two. My music collection go's from Metal straight to mellow. I think Ki does have more parts I really like compared to Addicted. Like Dev said, it is what it is, and fits into his 4 part project. I'm glad it got less radio friendly as I think it was meant to be from it's onset though. The guitar work is good to focus on during listening.

I compare Addicted to the fun cream filling in an oreo sandwiched in between hard serious outer layers (Ki and Decon). Obviously i havent heard decon yet but thats just what it seems like to me.

Ki hit me a lot harder as well. So much brooding energy and incredible atmosphere. Dark but uplifting. It feels more emotianally heavy than Addicted, although I'm loving Addicted right now. Addicteds got killer moments and such a cool vibe, but I think Ki will outlast it for me.

They're both completely different in every way-- comparing one to the other doesn't make any sense to me.

They are completely different but based around the same story being told? I'm confused

What story? Aren't all the songs on both albums "stand-alone?"

Ki was something I loved more and more each time I listened to it, despite not liking it much initially. Addicted on the other hand started out great the first time I heard it, but subsequent listens got a more lukewarm response from me.

My wife put it like this:

Ki is the type of surreal record you listen to when you're driving home from the airport at 2am and no one else is on the road...or the type of record you listen to while watching the sunset on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Addicted is the type of record you put on when your buddies are coming over for the BBQ.

to be honest when the first 2 tracks were playing for the first time the other day, I thought it was a slight let-down. but from bend it like bender and on, i thought it was getting better and better. after a few listens i really like the energy of the whole album, even though it does get a little too screamy at times. the last 3 songs are some of his best ever though, i think.

not as good as ki? hmm not sure about that, too early to tell. although i still go back and forth on whether i like terria or ocean machine better; or whether i like synchestra or ziltoid better...

I really enjoyed Addicted (just heard it for the first time a couple hours ago so it may take some time for me to fully appreciate) but I do agree that Ki is better. Then again, I think Ki is one of the best things Dev has ever done. So it is pretty difficult to top for me. So the fact that I find Ki to be better than Addicted doesn't really say anything about Addicted itself but rather the fact that Ki is so great.

I love all devins material but Ki is by far my least favorite album he has done. Addicted is the best thing he has done since accelerated evolution probably.
