In the Ki booklet, Dave Young and Dev are accredited with 'ambience', as well as keys. Aren't they the same thing?
I'm starting to make my own ambient music, but would like to know what the difference is between proper 'ambience' and just pads with heaps of reverb. Is it like layered samples?

You don't need keyboards to make ambient noises. You could record yourself rattling a tin can full of rice and class it as ambience

Hey yeah, like those rain sound makers.
Wouldn't mind getting a crystal singing bowl soon.
