I know (or knew, we had a big falling out) the guy who invented that.
He used to own a studio in Clapham called Joe's Garage, where I recorded my first two albums and eventually ran my own programming suite (hah that shows my age).

It looks like a Chapman stick only more nerdy.

To me, that thing seems very interesting. You can clearly create a wide variety of soundscapes with it.
