Post your misheard Dev lyrics here.

Ki
For Gaia to Gaia to Gaia....
My original thought was:
"Kai kuh-kai, kuh-kai, kuh-kai, kuh-kai", etc.
This is because I thought Ki was pronounced "Kai". So naturally, it made sense to say "Kai K-Kai" over and over again. The "K" being the Kuh sound you make with the letter K.
Then I found that it was pronounced "key", proving my first interpretation to be wrong.
I went back for another dozen or so listens and came to the conclusion that it was...
"Guy the guy the guy the guy..."
Not too far off this time.

Heaven Send
"How could Heaven be so frenetic
Oh you've got it, without fanatic hold to body
How your Semitic hold to God it seems so funny"

This would be very tough to get on the first listen, but this is coming from the guy who thinks that James Hetfield screams "Break some eggs!" before Kirk's solo in Master of Puppets.
Anyway, my interpretation was:
"How could heaven be so political hey you've got it the botanical..."
After that I gave up.

Not a misheard lyric, but in my head this line
"face the chaos"
I hear
"Taste the rainbow"

Canada
During the last verse, starting with "The road", there's some backing vocals going on and I can't tell what the hell it is.
To me, it sounds like "The road of love" or "The road of life"
Any clue?

Storm
"Are we tired of living, are we tired of the war?"
Thought it was:
"Are we tired of living, are we tired of the wall?"

Mountain
"Two medications and a dog"
Thought:
"To medications and the dark"

SYL:
Detox
"Hey, you know, hey, you know" (I think that's what it is)
But when I first heard it I though it was
"rot, you roll, rot, you roll"

That's all I got for now. Pretty lame. I'm sure there are better ones. I just give up because my ears for lyrics are so shitty, and there's so many layers, I just can't decipher anything.
Dev mentioned loving Def Leppard's Hysteria. When that album came out, my brother got it and I stole it from him and taped it. I listened to it all the time. "Run Riot" is what turned me on to heavy guitar. That album has a ton of layers too, as do most DL's albums. I have a really hard time deciphering those. It's hard to believe that people can sing along to all their singles.

I mean come on, "Rocket, yeah. Satellite of love"
How the fuck can anyone discern that?

I always thought it was "Rock it. Hit it. Say the naaaaaame"

Or in Hysteria
"cause it's a miracle, oh say you will"
It honestly sounds like
"It's a miracle, to see you eat"

That whole album is full of hilarious misinterpretations. Didn't mean to bring DL into it so much, but I want to see if anyone has some really good misheard Dev or SYL lyrics.

Or maybe we can just figure out what the hell he is saying in all those multi-layered background parts in so many songs.

I still can't make out anything in Ants.

Hide Nowhere last chorus:
???

Sister:
Says something after sister ???
There's nothing I can say? tell?

Canada:
THE ROAD!
(The road I know)
IT'S HOME!
(The road is home)
THE MOUNTAIN HIGH!
(???)
RIVER LOW!
(???)

I am absolutely awful at picking up lyrics from songs. So much so, that I generally assume that I've got the lyrics wrong.

War
"You can't fight a war without losing blood"
"You can't fight a woman without losing blood"

Well, I guess that's kind of true.

My worst misheard lyrics ever would definitely have to be from Namaste:
"Feeling the feeling of
Feeling the feeling of
Oh my God"

Until I read the proper lyrics, and even though I knew he wasn't actually singing this, all I could hear was:
"Paedophilia
Paedophila
All night loooong"

I always thought it was "Hey, Come on", but apparently it's "Hey, Yo Mo"

I'm constantly getting the feeling everyone around me is deaf man. Although I didn't have a clue about the backing falsetto in Ki.

The classic one, thanks TNG

Welcome. 8) What thread did you pull that from?

Went back and listened to Skeksis again, then looked in the CD booklet for the lyrics. The booklet shows no sign of "girl," but I could have sworn I heard "girl fight" at 5:55...am I going crazy!?

It's nice when you have lyrics to read to confirm or correct what you've heard. "Red Tomorrow", though, seems an exception. I've hunted high and low...cannot find lyrics to that song anywhere! So, if anyone has them...share?

Happy Camper:
"Stuck in endless winter with your press to keep you sane..."

I hear, every time:
"Stuck in endless winter with no breasts to keep me sane..."
