Devin's "distributor"

For anyone who did not preorder Ki, and bought it from a regular music-store:
did the albums reach your store in time for the release date? at HMV they came about a week late and I was so god damn pissed off; they only told me it was the "distributor", and they were known to deliver delayed.
and will it be the same for Addicted? if not I will have to find a way to preorder it, or something.

There's a local place here where I'd bought Ziltoid and my friend had bought Synchestra. They still haven't gotten Ki. Could just be that the store decided not to carry dev stuff anymore though, haven't seen any SYL stuff there in a long time either.

The record store I used to work at would have the albums show up a week late or so.

I checked HMV every day for about 9 days after the release date before it was in. Doing so was a 16 kilometer bike ride but whatever.

Not a chance to buy it without a delay, when it comes artists like Devin Townsend.

I usually come to the store with a shovel and dig hard through Britney Spears, Lil Wayne and Lordi till I find one copy of real music.

It takes me about a two weeks.

the FYE in our local mall is actually really good when it comes to metal (got its own section!) and they're quite good with getting Devin's stuff in as well. I've gotten almost all of Dev's main solo stuff from there and they had Ki the day it came out so i was very happy and i'm sure they'll get Addicted just as fast

I'm pretty sure I bought Ki from HMV on the release date, but I'm not 100% sure. (HMV in Dundee)

Yeah, most of my recent trips to record stores were rather fruitless, maybe my wishlist became too snobbish (well, good luck with finding i.e. Intronaut or Scale The Summit on any shelf - damn I have tons of records to buy). And if we're speaking about the Dev's releases I won't count on Century Media/Insideout distribution and local stores - usually it takes weeks to deliver their CDs - getting CD from HDR usually takes a week or less :>

Huh. I guess the HVM in Edmonton is just lazy. I had to check every day after the release date, and everytime they would give me an answer.
I heard it was already in the back and they just had to unload it, which they said would take a day or two, that they just didn't know, that it would come in within a few days, all sorts of bullshit till one guy finally explained something about the "distributor" and told me he'd reserve me a copy and call me the day it came in.
if it comes late I guess I'll have to douche out and download a leak till I can buy it.
