Devin's Guitar Tuning

(Not sure which forum to put this in, this seems like the appropriate one)
Well, on most songs, Devin uses a tuning of Drop C (for both SYL and his solo stuff) Thing is, he's almost using a 7 string guitar, where 7 string guitars normally have a tuning of BEADGBE (save for Vampira, which is in standard)... Just curious how Devin goes about tuning his 7 strings, having the low C on the bottom, yet typically the 7th string is a B... he tune up half a step? Thanks for any help.

I think I've read that he's used Open C (not Drop C) for 10 years. On the 7 string, he adds an extra G and there are rumours that he's having an 8 string made, with an extra C.
And Jed uses the same tuning but without the E, on a 6-string.

Nope, I'm right beside you.

Hmm, very cool. Low G is a bit ridiculous, and even lower C would like... explode the universe, but hey, with Dev, anythings possible.

I don't think it's "even lower C". As far as I know, all the Cs and all the Gs are the same. But I know shit about tunings, I just know the the right letters in the right order: CGCGCGE

Wait... thats different from what Atari said *confused* Thats what I kinda figured his tuning to be more like... but I guess it depends on what octaves those are in... silly Devy and his weird tunings.

Heh, then I was mistaken, sorry. Atari's probably right.

No, I think you're probably right, would make more sense. A low G would be... well beyond freaking low (lower then Nile, if that means anything) and I haven't heard him go that low. CGCGCGE makes more sense, just not sure what octave the third CG would be in.
