because that way, he only had 2 albums to play material from, and it wouldve been the most kickass set list ever and all the best songs would be played.

but now, he has many more albums and material, you around bound to miss out on some favourites! :(

i reckon it would be great if he performed every album from start to finish :D and MAYBE we'll give him some breaks :D:P

I agree with you in a way... although I would still kill to see Earth Day, Deadhead or Random Analysis live.

Yes he must play every album start to finish... and I'll be nice I'll give him a break... he can leave out Physicist :P

How about a DevFest. It goes on for several nights, and every night Dev plays another album as a whole, and in between then he has some of his good musician friends and special guests play. What a festival that would be.

I disagree. A lot of his best work comes after those two cds. I fuckin LOVE Terria and AE, they have some necessary live songs. Especially some of the AE stuff.

I think OM is my favorite Devy album atm, but i still would like to see a lot of live stuff from AE and Terria.

I agree with that. Terria and AE have plenty of stuff that should be heard live. You just can't count them out again Infinity and OM.

I think you are wrong, sir.

The only way I could be satisfied to the fullest extent with a live Devy show (notice I didn't say fully satisfied) is if the set was about four hours long or so. There's way too much stuff to cover, and like Loui said above, Physicist included.

The Terria tour had a pretty good setlist, I'm just hurt that I wasn't allowed in because I was underage.

From memory, it was something like

Truth
Mountain
Seventh Wave
Earth Day
Deep Peace solo
War
Om intro
Regulator
The Complex
Bad Devil

with SYL highlights thrown in, Home Nucleonics, Velvet/All Hail, OMFG, Detox and SYL... From memory, Truth, War and Mountain sounded like the highlights, at least from outside the venue........ :(

No Devin setlist could ever contain all the classics one would want. The shows for AE seemed pretty good because they had no SYL in them so he got a lot done, but he didn't play Mountain, which sounded so amazing live.

I'm glad he chooses not to play Physicist stuff live (except for the two Ph tunes he did on Terria tour because he was backed by the band that recorded them) , it would take up the spot of something that would be far better. Still, Australia hasn't gotten a DTB tour at all yet so anything would be a good thing.....

I cannot wait till we have another DTB tour for the next album. I missed them the last time they played the UK, so i have to go next time.

It is true there are just so many favourites that not everyone could be satisifed, i would like at least four or five off each album so we would be talking about a long set! I'd pay extra to see a three hour gig,

He did the Infinity/Ocean Machine/SYL show but that was not with the Devin Townsend Band. I'm talking about the official DTB with Ryan and co.

And I thought Dev was one of the few artists without any "everything used to be better back in the day" fans.

Any time I'm privileged enough to see Devin in concert (so far basically as SYL) is the greatest time. :)

Hangin' to see a DTB tour. (HINT!!)

whatever

it was merely a comment based on the fact that now you wont get to see all your favourites in one concert, whereas I/OM tour you could!.
