Interesting that alot of reviews I've read about Devy compare him, musically at least to Pink Floyd.
2 Weeks for example has been described as "Pink Floydish", also Accelerated Evolution has been described as an extension to Pink Floyds sound. (read that on a metal-forum somewhere)
So I was wondering is Devy a fan of this legendary band?? I reckon it would be cool as these are my 2 favourite artists, so anyone????

Me too. I love 'em.

Yeah, sometimes Dev is Floydish! I think he likes Pink Floyd...

A good friend of mine had been a Floyd fan for many years when I pointed him towards Devin's music. In the end Terria (perhaps Devin's most 'Floydy' album) became on of his favourite albums ever.

He reckoned the bass lines and the vocal style was similar to many Floyd albums, in particular the album 'The Division Bell', which he let me hear....and there was definately a strong similarity.

you know, floyd was the band that opened my eyes up to alot of different things, and not just music but poetry and art as well. Because of that they are and always will be my number one band (shit, I've got about four tattoos of various artwork including the cross hammers) though I don't listen to them all the time. But when I do, its always special.

And I've always thought Dev as being sort of the Pink Floyd of metal. The texture and atmosphere around his work can be just spine chilling as can Floyd's.

I'm glad i'm not the only one to hear the similarities, and Terria is the first album I think of when comparing Devy and floyd.
Ianlogan123, how cool would it have been a collaboration between Dev and Floyd.

I always thought devins solo stuff had an Alan Parsons type sound to it especially in the vocal stuff, I think Alan Parsons engineered a few Floyd albums.

Roger Waters is my favourite person in music. He is by far my favourite lyricist.

That would be amazing!! Dave Gilmour playing rhythm though.

Very good comparison there. I've thought that same thing many times too. Dev's obviously more aggressive, but the way he does everything, the way tracks blend together and all that, it's something Pink Floyd was very famous for. Yeah, it's very clear where Dev's Pink Floyd influence lies (well, all over).

*chokes on his cereal*

They can both play lead! Devin could do the rock out lead, and Gilmour the slow, aching space-blues. Even better, they could play twin lead guitar, like Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden.
