Appreciation for the unappreciated

While I know that all of Dev's songs are great and they all get appreciated, this thread is for the songs you don't hear being talked about as much even though you personally think they deserves more recognition. So choose a song you've always thought deserved more appreciation or recognition and let everybody know how much you love it! SYL songs too if you want.
Personally, even though I have heard it praised before, my choice would be Colonial Boy. I just love this song, especially the chorus, and I always find myself singing along and dancing around the room when i listen to it.
As for Strapping Young Lad, one of my favorites would be Bring on the Young. I just love how the song starts off slow with just Dev singing and the quiet little riff and by the time its over its escalated into full SYL goodness of Bring on the HATE!! HATE!! HATE!! and BURN!! BURN!!
I also love the part with the choir in the background along with that little pinch harmonic. Ahh...what a great way to end an album.

Tiny Tears doesn't get much talk. Noisy Pink Bubbles is killer. But I think the single most overlooked Dev songs is Spirituality from City.... absolute corker, that one.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. Tiny Tears is one of my favorites of Terria and Spirituality is one I always look forward to on City and often play over a second or third time. Again, a great way to end an album.
You know whats funny tho about Tiny Tears tho? Well Devy gets A LOT of discussion over at the Dream Theater general discussion boards believe it or not. A few months ago I made a poll for favorite song off Terria and Tiny Tears beat the competition by a long shot, even Earth Day and Nobody's Here i think. I also recall a few people mentioning Spirituality being a killer track, which it is

It seems those Dream Theater fans know their stuff as well!

Hmm... Stagnant is one of my personal faves that I never really hear anyone mention. And it contains one of my favourite Devy lines 'It's beautiful the way its meant to be... Beautiful, but it don't do shit for me!'
And Night is another one I love but its very under-rated I find. And for SYL it would have to be Centipede, awesome tune that no-one talks about.

Hmm...Hide Nowhere, Jupiter, Stagnant.....
As far as SYL, I don't visit those forums much, so I don't know which songs are fan favorites, but overall, I don't here much about any of the material from HAARHT that deserves a lot of credit for being awesome.
SYL, Drizzlehell, Skin Me.
and so on....

Centipede is only on No Sleep Til Bedtime right? Is it on all versions?

Me too, I love that damn song!
I have to admit, it kinda sounds like it could be in a photo commercial like Kodak... Is it just me?

Ants and Colonial Boy are two that come to mind right away. Happy Camper could be another one, but that one I like mostly because it's just so blistering. Traveller is another song I love that doesn't get talked about too much. Ummm, I'll list a few more...Life, Depth Charge, and Irish Maiden. All of those are songs I absolutely love that I don't see getting too much love here.

I think there are quite a lot. I like "Nobody's Here", "Stagnant", "Ants", "Hide Nowhere". Loads that I hardly ever hear discussed.

Really? I always hear people refer to Nobody's Here as one of their favs of Terria. Agree with you about Hide Nowhere tho, that was my favorite off Ocean Machine for the first few weeks i had it.

Noisy Pink Bubbles for sure. Same with filler, drizzlehell and spirituality.

Spirituality most definitely. I love listening to that song before I fall asleep. Greetings has one of the coolest intro riffs ever. Noisy Pink Bubbles gets really cool around 1:09 or so (can't remember exactly), when it starts to sound like something that came straight out of Ocean Machine. That slowly decending clean w/chorus line. God I love that part.
"It's getting late, I'm getting old, and every night I just sleep. We never talk. And every night I look to the sky, and I pray to God they'll hear me. And if that's all there is, if this is it, won't, won't someone tell me? 'Cuz I'm so fucking sick of all you sick, stupid people." - Spirituality
