Is Planet Rain the song on Physicist that sounds like it would belong on a normal Devin album? By normal i mean not the speed metal pop style. I thought I heard someone say this, I could be mistaken.

I suppose you could say that...
True, if someone were to buy Physicist because they love that song, they'd be severely disappointed. But after listening to the album a few times I can't imagine it being on a different album.

For me, it'd be:
Ocean Machine
-Seventh Wave
-Life
-Night
-Hide Nowhere
-Voices in the Fan
-Regulator
-Death of Music
Infinity
-Christeen
-Bad Devil
-War
-Ants
-Colonial Boy
-Dynamics
-Noisy Pink Bubbles
Physicist
-Namaste
-Victim
-Material
-Kingdom
-Irish Maiden
-Jupiter
-Planet Rain
Terria
-Mountain
-Earth Day
-Deep Peace
-Canada
-The Fluke
-Nobody's Here
-Tiny Tears
-Stagnant
(I pretty much included the entire album, mainly because each song compliments each other song so well and helps to make the other ones five stars)
Accelerated Evolution
-Depth Charge
-Storm
-Random Analysis
-Deadhead
-Suicide
-Traveller
-Away
-Slow Me Down
(don't worry, I consider Sunday Afternoon to be 4.5 stars)
As for the Strapping Young Lad albums
HAARHT
-SYL
-In the Rainy Season
-Happy Camper (Carpe BUM)
-Critic
-Satan's Ice Cream Truck
City
-All Hail the New Flesh
-Oh My Fucking God
-Detox
-Home Nucleonics
-Underneath the Waves
-Room 429
No Sleep 'Til Bedtime
-basically the entire thing, I won't bother listing them
SYL
-Consequence
-Relentless
-Rape Song
-Devour
-Dirt Pride
-Force Fed
-Bring on the Young
Hmmm, seems like a rather lengthy list, but those are songs that whenever I think of them I immediately want to listen to them, so I think that constitutes a five star song.

Interesting thread....though I do kinda find it funny/touching that most people list the majority of every album as being 5-star material!
There are a few songs that I would think of as particular moving from each album, but only in the context of the other songs on the album. I could not say one was 5 stars. Maybe all the songs are 5 stars but a few are 6.
The 6 star songs might be:
All Hail The New Flesh
Life Is All Dynamics
Deep Peace
Life
Suicide
Aftermath
To name a few...
