Think maybe it's a good idea to recommend some venues? I don't know too many, but theres one in Reading which is fair size and sounds nice. Seems to be a lot of Dev fans in the south east too. :D

I remember Dev saying he doesn't want to play just any old scuzzy venue. :P

Or is this a little forward thinking? :?:

I'd travel to London to see Dev. The O2? Maybe get that Jackson geezer to do support for Dev one night.

No idea actually how big O2 arena is but going by its name, its a fair size? :P I prefer gigs on the slightly smaller side myself. Much larger than Brixton acadamy and I find myself a little... Hmmm. Largest I;ve been too is Wembley arena, which was cool, but half of the side I was just starting at a big screen. It;s kinda silly.

Just my personal opinion of course.

And I got into an argument with someone on my fashion course about Jackson :P she was gloating about going to see him next year, and how her concert would be better than mine. I was not in the mood to be provoked, so I kinda shot her down a little. She seemed a little moody afterwards...

The times I've seen Dev in London, it was at the old Mean Fiddler (aka Astoria 2) - RIP
So I would've thought that realistic venue suggestions would be (from smallest to biggest):

Bush Hall, Scala, Electric Ballroom, Koko

Yeah actually, those would be quite good venues. And I'll actually be able to go to the Koko now! (So many bands I haven't been able to see due to underageness. :P )

It's such a shame Astoria/Mean fiddler shut down. That was my favourite music venue. :D

Well i live right up in the middle of fucking nowhere North Yorkshire BUT ive been to see Devin 4 times in London and dont mind making the trip, its only a 6 hour drive which isnt that long to see the Dev in action. Me and my mate Ste will be jetting down to London to see the Dev next year whether he plays anywhere else or not!!

^^ Wow, you're extremely lucky :o
6 hours is kind of a drive, but getting to see Townsend is like the carrot at the end of the stick.
Perhaps I shouldn't compare Devin to dangling carrots actually, but it's a metaphor :) The nice thing about living near a huge coastal city is that acts will almost always come to San Francisco. It's pretty sweet.

With some street teaming action, with some constantly reminding people, with the posters, shirts and what not - I think SF should be ready for him 8) Townsend epidemic!!!

Well here in Toronto Roy Thompson Hall would be a likely place. I Saw Dio play there not so long ago.w

As much as I would kill to see that at RTH, I think that The Phoenix or the Mod Club are liklier candidates. DTB played @ the Phoenix for the Synchestra tour and it was 3/5 full. I've seen The Gutter Twins at the Mod Club and will see Gojira there next month. It should be a good venue for Dev. The sound for The Gutter Twins was awesome and the club had a decent layout. I would suspect capacity would be 500ish.
