I came across King's X recently, Gretchen Goes to Nebraska rocks. Can anyone recommend me an album to get next?

Did no one mention Anathema yet? I'm pretty new to them, but their last album A Natural Disaster is incredible. It's symphonic, sometimes very mellow and still has some metal guitars here and there. Took me a while to get into, now it is one of my favourites.

You might want to check out Dogman, their self-titled album or Faith Hope Love. I like Tape Head a lot too, but not everyone seems to agree on that. Anyway, Dogman (like Gretchen) is considered to be one of their best.

Dogman is a great album. I always thought that album should have taken them to 'the top of the charts'.

Kings-X can be an acquired taste, but they kick ass in all they do.
Doug Pinnick is a monster on Bass. Visions of a pot-smoking gospel singer come to mind when he belts it out.
