1. biomech- its got his best songs on this record
2. Accelerated Evolution- listened to this one the most. first one i got
3. Terria- First devin i heard. it was jizz
4. Infinity-took me the longest to get into but i like its freshness
5. Synchestra- this one had to grow on me aswell...i think the vocals are the worst on this one. just cause he sounds like james labrie in some parts
6. Physicist- its just like the riffs that were to melodic for strapping. but its jizz.

SYL:

1. City - best produced album i have ever heard
2. Alien- took me awhile to get into this cause it is alot more chaotic
3. SYL- this one is the grooviest
4. The New Black- this one has some "fuck you. i sold out" thing. but its cool cause i dont think devin gives a fuck. and of course I suck.
5. Heavy As A Really Heavy Thing- some of it is awesome like critic or hapy camper...but some of the songs i find to filler

What is it, The Abyss?

Right! :D

By the way, I use to hear OM, for sleep, for 2 weeks now. I must say it works better than Terria, which I heard the time before. OM is "softer" and "warmer", Terria needs more concentration and attention.

That's cool - Voices In The Fan and Greetings sometimes make me of The Abyss as well. I think the first connection came from the lyrics of Greetings. Anyway, it's always a nice surprise seeing others come up with the same associations as I do.

Which, in this single case, wasn't meant as an insult

Maybe The Dev himself had movies like Abyss in mind when he created these underwater guitar-, vocal- and synth effects, who knows?

There are so many underwater lanscape sounds on Biomech that remind me of these movies, starting with the mighty, deep and reverby guitar intro riff of Seventh Wave.

Absolutely, the guitar tone adds lots to it. Especially the riff from Seventh Wave you mentioned... Or the beginnig of Night. It's just this simple, muted guitar-line consisting of three or four notes, but I'm pretty sure that already the first time I heard it, I had this picture of the ocean at... well, at night, in my head. And I know it would also have been like this if the name of the song had been different.

Maybe the Abyss-question should find its way into the Ask Tracy section...?

I gotta go with Terria, I really love Ocean Machine, but Terria is just about as good as it gets for me.

Tough choice!
Ocean Machine has been a revelation to me, the album that defined Devin's style, but I like Terria better ( I love everything Devin , anyway).

Terria, with Ocean Machine on a very close second.
