I truly can't believe that there still seem to be people out there thinking Rammstein have a Nazi-relation...

I'd gone off Rammstein a bit for the last couple of releases but the new one is seriously excellent and possibly up there with Mutter. Time will tell on that front. Humour, especially irony or sarcasm, is something that doesn't always port well across languages and cultures normally, never mind in music, so it's no surprise that people sometimes miss that in their work. The sound of the German language works very well with the right type of industrial or metal and it's a positive rather than a negative for me when it all fits together.

To have them come back with such a good album (I'll be grabbing the double cd on Monday - woooo) AND to now find out that Dev has done a remix makes this another good musical day this year. I wonder which track - a remix of Pussy, perhaps? I know that Machine Head have remixed "Rammlied” already....

As I say, they're not as unique as many would have you believe

Ha, nice! I nearly mentioned Laibach and how they've really suffered the same misunderstandings, possibly to a far greater degree. The best way to bring attention to something, especially in raising awareness of something you care about, is to shine a spotlight on it and make it transparent to all.

The down side of this is that there's a chance that if you play the Devil too realistically then people will believe your horns are real.

Is the remix available some where already? And which song is it?

I'm somewhat curious to the collaboration of Rammstein and Dev.
Even though their production styles are way different, and I like them both, so it remains to be seen (or rather 'heard') what will become of this coming together of geniuses

I generally avoid Internet arguments because of my tendency to frget about them to the point I don't even login but your logic is confusing me...
The fact that Rammstein sings in their native tongue makes them superior to Metallica whose singer was born in California and sings in English. Even at this juncture in time with much more intense levels of immigration, the official language of Hetfield's native land is English.
Secondly, why the hell would Devin love us more if we're bashing people who pay him money he can put towards caring for his family on a forum he actively posts in/is an administrator of? There are those who would take his not deleting this thread right off the bat as an endorsement of it.

Who are pretty damned proud of being drunken thrash metal morons, a term you use in a derogatory manner.

You really undermine your argument when you say stuff about how entire subgenres like Black Metal and Thrash Metal are invalid because of their image. Sure, a lot of the fans are goofy but looking past that at the actual music you can find some downright moving material as well as some fairly amazing musicianship. That's all stuff you'd pick up on if you actually LISTENED and didn't just judge based on outward appearances.
As for the lyrics comments... seeing as Rammstein are legendary for their sense of humor, I kind of doubt their lyrics are supposed to be all that sophisticated. Plus the guy who took issue with them stated up front he was German. I grasped that from skimming. Oy. This place just keeps going downhill. Someone hold me. Please PM pics first though.

Seen Rammstein couple of times live, they do produce kick-ass live set and nice fire show to boot. Own every album but newest, still not diehard fan of band. I think they have their well deserved spot on metal scene, and lyrics are best when you don't know or/and give a shit what they mean  And yeah, those nazi accusations are just plain stupid, but probably people making those claims are stupid anyways so can't really blame someone being mentally challenged...

Farting and tubas that is definately a win combination

Rammestein definetly has some catchy tunes I never really had time to go translate their lyrics so I'm not so sure what it's all about other than that not bad music IMO who cares about what's trve and cvlt metal if I did I would be in my parents basement playing dungeons and dragons listening to carpathian forest

The single with the remix will be released on February 8th, and i believe the song is 'Ich Tu Dir Weh' (translated; I Hurt You).

Furthermore, I've been following this discussion lately and while i agree with some of you, saying Rammstein isn't really that unique is not something i share with you :P I think Rammstein is a great act, combining tongue in cheek humour with a great music, and strong lyrics. Oh yes, i like the lyrics a lot. A lot of people don't understand the lyrics because they are in German, or even if they speak German, they fail to see the irony in it. I've been a long time fan of Rammstein and even went to see them live a month ago. Man, the gig was incredible, their live act is full of energy, fireworks, explosions, humor and not to forget a kick ass live performance. I can imagine a lot of people not liking Rammsteind and Devin at the same time, but I've been a long time fan of them both :D

There is a "Devin Townsend"-Remix of Rammlied online on Youtube, but i think it´s the one from the machine-head-guy. Not 100% sure, though.

Indeed Lolli, I think it's the song Rammlied that Dev remixed, as a B-side for the Ich Tu Dir Weh single.

I have indeed also found a youtube clip that claims to be it, but sound quality is truly horrible.
