I actually tried replying to this thread the other day, and would have been the first response, but my internet conked out and I was unable to post that if Dev came to Aus, Karnivool or Cog would be a good match for him. Then I get on here today and see that DEV himself said he likes them, which just gets me super excited for a Dev show with both Karnivool AND Cog.

Ahhh, we fanboys and our dreams.

Great news on Dev headlining Aus also.

I've heard that Cog are taking an extended break, or something along those lines... They've been around for a while now.
Awesome to hear that if Dev comes out, he'll headline. I might have to book a hotel in Sydney and Adelaide and follow the tour for a few days... would be fun.

Looking forward to it.

I totally understand his reason for not headlining this tour as its his 1st in, what, 4 years? Makes total sense. But it's been hinted that he'd like to do a headlining tour after all this (I'm personally hoping late 2010 :P) So I'm just curious, on this hypothetical headlining DTP tour, who'd you like to see as his support? My votes, in playing last to playing first order:

Opeth (share the headlining slot, that'd be sick)
Baroness (lucky enough to see these two together last year, but with DTP? Holy shit.)
2 post-metal/rock bands to open, maybe:
Rosetta, Isis, or maybe even Neurosis...
Red Sparrowes (or Pelican or Russian Circles... hard to decide)

anyway, there ya go. opinions?

Lol I dont think Neurosis would do much opening for anyone.

haha thats a great point. didn't think about that. still, think it'd be cool to seem them with Dev, for me anyways. i think in an odd, different way their styles would complement each other. or maybe its just me. so maybe higher up on my list I should say, helping coheadline instead of Opeth? i dunno.
i have yet to see Neurosis live, so my life is not complete. same thing with Dev. Woe on me.

Sorry for the embarrassing ignorance, but what will The Dev be headlining if he comes to Australia? The BTBAM tour thing?
