My tip to taking a break:

Finish your current job, collect what you're owed (if anything) and then stop.

I'm still doing music stuff (emails, click tracks etc) but I'm more 'puttering'...

Manual labor shuts the mind off as well, chopping wood or cleaning your garage or something.

My music is MUCH better when I take breaks every now and then, thats my motivation, if I go till I drop, the music tends to reflect that sort of desperation that people unconsciously feel stressed listening to (I would think)

Movies are good, but right now I'm on a serious mst3k (Joel) kick again...

There was this motivational speaker that used this as an ice breaker at my school. It seemed to work.

It was awesome; he was a thalidomide victim, and to be able to use something like that to tell everyone that everything is not quite how it seems.

..bear in mind this was at my high school, and you could probably hold the active brain matter of most of my year in one of my freakishly small hands, so I think it was a success on his part.

I visited Banff about 15 years ago. There are pictures of me with a Pantera "Far Beyond Driven" t-shirt on, haha. I remember doing a fantastic hike up to "Healy Pass". It's one of the most beautiful places I've ever been too. The Canadian Rockies are so amazing and full of life. It's a long drive from here, but well worth the break from the monotony of "The Great" (aka flat and boring) plains.

Just looked up "Great Plains", my homeland doesn't even qualify for that! LAME.

I miss living in Oregon. Lots of life there.

A friend of mine had that article hanging on his bathroom door. I was halfway through when I noticed it wasn't just a couple of typo's :P

Same here, but I actually prefer Mike (hate the Pearl/Bo-Bo/Brain Guy crap though).

Maybe we can agree on something though:

Who do you prefer - Crow or Tom Servo?

Maybe that is mixed up too, and instead of 55%, it really means 55%.

Quoted for truthiness.

I actually just got two of my favorite MST3K episodes ("Devil Fish" and "The Final Sacrifice") on DVD from some site that sells them apparently legally for like $6 each. They don't come in flashy packaging (thats how the price is kept so low), and they were just recorded from the TV, but the quality is pretty damn good despite all that. I stumbled on the site completely randomly...www.cheepnis.com, if thou is interested.
