The remix turned out great, I put a bunch of tubas and farting in it. I thought they would be pissed, but they really liked it.

I've been in too much sites viewing opinions of bands. I'm just tired of conclusions about their music and them, without even have downloaded a song, But I must confess this is the first site I'm into where nobody calls them Nazis. Oh and you must know that pussy is not only about sex tourism is also about pop bands who only thinks in commercial success (Rammstein may have won a lot of commercial success but it's because the controversy or if they were thinking only in money they could have released a video "suitable" for MTV, like Metallica does. And my problem with Metallica is that, they are the only metal band (without counting Nu Metal) that they put on screen. And Nightwish, it's just a problem with their plagiarism obsession of others symphonies from centuries behind and claiming ti be hailed because their "snobness"

By the way Lolliklauer, they represents and ARE your country because they invented a truely German sound and it's not a copy of US or UK music which I love too. I love their originality. sorry if you like them but bands like Blind Guardian and Scorpions (I like them) they are "To Cringe-ing". Be realistic, You could not Like Rammstein but it's an opinion. The haven't insulted the Metal name like other bands did, claiming being the kings of metal.

Sorry if my english is rude, some people told me that they believe I'm shouting them or trying to be their mothers. In Argentina we express like this. Maybe it's because the italian and spanish blood running through 60 % argentinians XD.

And DEV you are a genius.

I like the odd bit of Rammstein in small doses. I wouldn't say they're groundbreakingly original though, they're pretty strongly influenced by Laibach, and it's not like they were the first to do industrial metal.

As for the lyrics, they are quite cheesy, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

Rammstein is a hell of a unique band being that unique is impressive wheter you like them or not

However, their lyrics really only work if you speak german, which I do, harhar!

also, their new video is insane! Actually I wasn't expecting much from them anymore, I thought it'll all be downhill from now on since "Reise Reise" was so great, but then they have outdone themselves again with an even more shocking video for everyone to complain about. The best part is the "Germany!!!"-part, because in germany there is this kind of "don't do anything that makes people think we're nazis"-mentality

...which is a fucking good mentality (as long if its not just a hypocritical fake)!

Rammstein played that game from the beginning (in case non-germans don't know: nobody except Adolf, Rammstein and some 1930-1945 german singers/moviestars rrrrolls the rrrr like that, it was a clearly intentional provocation or maybe joke, if you want), and maybe it was some kind of "fresh" many years ago, but in these days it's just annoying and emberassing (for me). Plus it's even more emberassing because he sings it in english. "Look at me, i'm making jokes about being an evil german!!!111!!1". Funny  .

well, my point is that it should be ok for someone from germany to be proud of their country, without anyone else thinking that it has anything to do with nazi stuff.
In other countrys, especially the USA, it's fashionable to be proud and to be a patriot etc. even though, for example, the settlers killed almost all native americans in the early days.
It's a thing of the past, everyone learned their lesson: The americans are the last ones to kill any more native americans and the germans are the last ones to let anything like nazi germany ever happen again.
It will never be forgotten, but you should not blame all generations that came afterwards.

oh and regarding the "rrrrrr", it's a way to make the language sound heavy in a heavy music context, IMO

What's wrong with that?

I'm quite a big Nightwish fan, but I don't know anything about them and plagiarism. Except for some covers, all of their music is written by themselves as far as I know!

Rammstein are very self ironic and whoever takes their lyrics, vocal style or appearance too seriously probably takes just about anything too seriously. People in other countries are smart too and realize that so I don't see how their image is casting bad light on us Germans. Whether you like their music or not is a different story but I don't see why there image would be problematic.
And that Dev remix should be solid gold. Farts in a Rammstein song? That should be different!

Ze Zjerman Ztereotype usually lacks any sense of humour, I'd say Rammstein's tongue-in-cheek approach denies that image, if anything.

Yes, it's the best thing you can do with Rammstein (-> don't take them seriously). I'm not really worried about the image, my english is not very good and it's hard to express what i mean. I know i don't have to worry about Rammstein, but in some way they embarrass me, though.

Or i could just fuck off.

It's unfortunate, but a lot of German industrial bands get accused of being fascist, due to a combination of Germany's past, the aggressiveness of the music, the militaristic fashion often associated with bands in the genre, and the fact that there is a subset of the genre that actually is fascist (as with black metal). I wouldn't pay too much attention to it.

I guess it doesn't help that to english speaking ears, even the most loving sentence spoken in German, sounds like you're telling someone in great detail how you're going to stab them. It's a bit like a Scottish accent in that aspect I guess, except even more so.
