Ok, so I had an Idea.

Between us all, lets make teh ULTIMATE Devin Townsend Wave!

To include listings of every release (special editions, normal editions, remasters, locational editions etc...)
Also note differences between editions - tracklistings, different track names etc...
Rarities, Bootlegs, unreleased stuff... Perhaps even a section for fan mixes, remixes and covers.
Don't forget the artwork!
You get the idea!

This will be a collaberative effort (hopefully) from the members of the devin townsend community.
It will provide us with the ultimate guide to completing our music collections :)

You DO need a google wave account before you can access this wave, A few of us have google wave accounts, and a few invites to give out to those who desperatly need them. (i have about 15 or so). Lets put our heads together, and make something really great for all of us, work together, and lets make this better than ANY wikipedia entry can be :)

Perhaps, a mod can make this a sticky if enough people are interested?

here is a public wave link :

https://wave.google.com/wave/#restored: ... BCAXch1prG

(i hope it works!)

Now, what is best? lets make a rough draft in wave comments, get all the information we will need, then eventually, we can make a fresh wave as a contents page, then link insde it more waves (one for each album) until we get the best devvy wave encyclopedia we can :)

lets do it!

:)

so far added the mission statement at the tope, and some album titles in comment... not put any useful information in there yet, as i really need to sleep.

ill check back tomorrow to see if theres any interest in helping me make this.

i expect lots! grrr! ;)

maybe the dev will help too, when he finishes his touring (we can always ask him!)

For those unfamiliar with Google Wave, look here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=8765

I added some crap to the list. Not sure what the advantage of a wave over a wiki is though.

i guess at teh construction point, its easier to collaborate and edit it together...

nothing stopping us taking hte finished version and putting it on a wiki for the rest of the non google wavers to see :D

I once tried to register for google but the SMS verification thing never came to my phone and I gave up. Stuff like that often ruins things for me. Why does registering have to be so difficult?

I guess I could try another time though...

E: Ha, worked this time... Weird... But now I can't get to the wave thing anyway... Blah

You need an invitation for Wave because it's still in "preview" phase. PM me your email address and I'll send you an invitation :)

Well, wave takes a little getting used to, something things are really not obvious at first.

once you have viewed a wave, it should stay in your inbox until you move it to trash, or mute it. every time someone adds something, it shows you in the inbox the number of new posts, and the number of overall posts.

if youre finding the wave hard to follow, you can always make the wave full screen, or also you could try the playback button. its shows you the conversation from the beginning, and you can see it what order things were added, and any edits that were made.

hope that helps :)
