The first song I heard was probably ' Om' or 'Mountain' . :D

The sound felt so strange and different to me that I couldn't avoid loving it and I do since then!

My story would start a tender age of thirteen, seven years ago when I was surfing the net looking for a sort of ..soundtrack to fill my teen years with and I was already into Steve Vai and I thought Dev's vocals on Sex & Religion were wicked! So, as you do, downloaded the first album I laid my eyes on which was, by all eventuality, City - took me a while to adjust but it soon sent me bouncing off the walls to hear more. I ventured further into Dev's working's (by that I mean searching through torrent sites) found Physicist and Terria, queued both albums, shuffled them and away I went, fucking magnificent!

Actually bought the albums a few months later, along with the rest and I'd just like to say, teen years well spent!

Heard of devin from The Human Equation, first songs I ever wound up hearing from the guy was Deep Peace and Truth.
Wound up getting Terria and Accelerated Evolution first, while AE hooked me, Terria took a hell of a lot of time to really sink in. Ultimately I appreciated that one more, hahaha

The first Devin/DTB album I bought was Synchestra, which I purchased back in June. My actual introduction to Devin's music was when I heard "Love?" on MusicChoice back in 2007 (2 weeks after he officially terminated SYL). A couple of months later, I bought Alien and The New Black (which I frequently listened to along with Dark Tranquillity's Fiction, which I purchased at the same time).

The most recent Devin/DTB albums on the other hand are Ki, Addicted, and Ocean Machine; which I received in the mail yesterday :D.

Ocean Machine was my first, i got given a copy of the Live SYL album back in 1998 and i knew nothing at all about them or Devin, i read in the linear notes something about Ocean Machine and Infinity so i went out and bought Ocean Machine cause i remember thinking WOW this guy has a great voice, and was BLOWN the fuck away. I remember about a month later i ordered every CD there was from hevydevy.com, then i was hooked, then came Phycisict, then i was ADDICTED!!

OM then everything in order from that point onwards.

What actually started it for me was City. As soon as I heard that I hunted down everything that I could and haven't stopped.

I heard 'Earth Day' when my friend made a CD full of random songs and I really liked it, I then listened to Accelerated Evolution at his house and loved it. But the first album I got was Ocean Machine and since then I've been building up the collection, recently got all the Strapping Young Lad albums and most of the solo stuff so... Nearly complete!
