What do you mean? Live or recorded vocals?

There was one show in Canada where Deborah joined the DTB on stage for Pixillate, but now that the DTB is on tour as a support for Opeth, Dev sings these parts.

And it must turn out awesome. Just read some of the posts by people who had the pleasure of seeing and especially hearing it live.

Saw him do it in MD and VA and he did it note-for-note. Sometimes Dev will lower the pitch of his vocal lines just to throw a different spin on it ("Life" or "Storm" live), but he managed to get his voice high enough to hit every single female . He is THE frontman.

First show of the tour, he did the female's vocals. He didn't do it falsetto, either...he used his full voice, and NAILED the high parts, and some of the sustain. (He seems to wind himself with the screams sometimes, but STILL pulls of the switch to clean beautilfully.)

Does that help?

I find that when I hear a new SYL/Devin Townsend Band album, I'll often be unsure whether some parts are sung by female vocalists or Devin, simply because he has that kind of vocal range. Not so much on Synchestra, but there are a few points on Alien where I wasn't 100% sure whether it was Devin to begin with.

Shine, by SYL for example. I wasn't sure initially, whether the part that goes "Shine on Shine on Shine on" was Devin or a female vocalist.
