Thanks for that post, Devin! I'm so fucking excited for this album to come out... and I'm going to try very hard not to download it.

Of course I'll buy it... but I'm like a kid snooping around for Christmas presents when it comes to hearing the new music of my favorite artists.

Do Not Let Anyone lie to you and say they are "sweet little angel's who will take care of you when you get old and pass on your families genes" NO! They will suck you dry, then they will join the rest of the human race and suck the hole freakin world dry!!! Ok, I feel better now.. You can really do whatever you like, I don't care. Does anyone else find this to be an ominous statement?
No. Every record of his closed an era. A personal era. The next will close another. That's why he doesn't like to talk much about his records after they are done.

For a guy who puts out records every year, saying that each one closes an era is a little melodramatic, don't you think? How many eras can one have within the same decade, after all?

Well, there is the possibilty of several eras running simultaneously. One can for example have a friendship that has changed your look on life and a job that's given you possibilities you'd never have otherwise. So when you lose the job or the friendship, that could be defined as "the end of an era". :)

Anyhow, I believe that's a question only Devin should answer. (Then why did I do it? oh well...)

What Turge said, I didn't mean calendar era.

And maybe not every single album, but I (vaguely) remember this being said for Infinity, Terria, Physicist, City, basically quite a few albums. OM and HAARHT were obviously the signs of a beginning of an era. :D

I agree, it sounds more melodramatic than I was aiming for, but then again, "an ominous statement" doesn't sound much better. :P What are your fears?

I don't know...I guess I just see most of his albums up to this point as being a continuation of similar themes and sounds...to me, "the end of an era" suggests that he is "moving on" musically, which is sad for a guy who listens to his albums religiously...

But then again, Devin says a lot of things, and less than half of them ever happen :P
