It's hard, isn't it?

"Gimme updates! Gimme gimme!!"

And then the updates arrive and we are all "oh no! I want it now!!"...having been tantalised just that little bit more...

The worst of both worlds.

I myself have resorted to eviscerating complete strangers to assuage my anxiety,

I mean, MORE strangers than usual...

These are great news. But I'm starting to feel a bit nervous.
With all those fantastic DTB Synchestra reviews, I'm starting to expect too much of it. BAD! BAD! Wouldn't want to be dissappointed in the end.

The only thing is, if it's hyped up being one of the greatest albums ever, some people may wind up disappointed if it doesn't top everything they've ever heard.

DON'T GET TOO EXCITED!

It's just the next record in a long line of records...some of you will think it's the best, some of you will think it's the worst...it's just a record.

We (the dtb) are biased, forget about it until you hear it, as it may well dissapoint you.

But you know, thats fine...the record is essential for me, although it's not nearly as intense as Infinity, or as trippy as Terria, it has a character that is unique but it takes a while to unfold...MANY may not have the patience.

There will be many records released next year by many great artists. If Synchestra fits that bill for you...hooray for our side, but there will be a few who are gearing up to rag on it relentlessly. Lots of 'hmmms' and 'I don't knows...'

If I have overhyped it, forgive me. It's really cool but a bit of a step sideways in a way...but the next music I do could not exist without having done it, so enjoy it, and look to the next stuff if this don't do it fer ya.

BTW, my favorite song of all times may very well be 'Hold On' - Tom Waits - Mule Variations.

I'm still excited, I just don't think I could not be. At the worst it will be new DTB music, and that's still one of the greatest things ever. So far it from everything we've heard it really sounds like something I'll be into, but of course without acually hearing it it is impossible to tell. The fact that it's not exactly like anything Dev has done before is really a big part of it's appeal to me. You can hear a kind of evolution growing through the DTB and SYL albums, and after Accelerated Evolution, DevLab, and Alien I really want to hear want comes next. In closing nothing you can say will quell my excitment. But hey any new information will be greatly appreciated :D

I agree with what Dev said, get excited but not too excited. Keep an open mind and get ready for DTB music gone different in a cool way........ hopefully you all will be pleasantly surprised.

I absolutely love this album (I'm not going back on my opinion), I'm listening to it as I write this post BUT that does'nt mean everyone will like it. The Journal is a way we can get our (DTB) feelings out on the album....... for us to share our thoughts and for all of you to read.

We gave you our opinions, your's may be very different or you may agree with me or Dev 100% on what we wrote in the Journal section !

Again, word's of advice.....

Please listen to this album from start to finish, that is important in getting to hear what Dev created this time around. It is like Dev said, a musical movie. If you have the patience to listen to the full album, a few times, with an open mind, I have a feeling that most of you will get it but whether it's an album that goes down as your all time fave or just another album, is up to you ! Either way, I'll say that it's an epic, emotional, fun and unique Devy listen. Enjoy ! :P

Indeed, it's the best song on the album! Do you like the "Bone Machine"-album? His best album in my opinion :D

Anyway, cool that you like Tom Waits - I've always wondered about that; you and Tom Waits are my favorite artists!

Pretty sure everyone already knows it will be the best release of 2006. You guys need to relax. We'll all love it more than you're anticipating us to. I think most of us understand what went into it and what we'll be getting out of it.

Not a single person on the forums can wait any longer. I understand you guys just want to play it safe and be a little modest. Nothing wrong with that. When it is released and it ends up being a beautiful album that was worth the wait, nobody will blame you for being as excited as you are.

We're all just taking it a day at a time.

For me:

New DTB album = hours and hours of great music, great vibes, great feelings and progressive (and neverending) discovering of new and hidden sides of the songs.

AND new DTB album = new DTB Tour = new dtb gigs = FUCK YEAH!!!

SO...

...I CAN'T BE DISAPPOINTED.

I need DTB music. Period.

If Synchestra will be my favourite Dev's release, that's great, if not... That's great anyway.

As long as DTB will continue to realease albums I'm a happy camper.
