I read in interviews about the crazy Devin Townsend etc. Does it offend you when magazine articles emphasise this to obviously entice the reader?

Not trying to be offensive. Dev is a normal guy happens to write damn good songs. Just wondering if it a pain that the media do this?

Devin has bi-polar. Thats counted as a mental disorder. The emotional extremes produced by the disorder has been rumored to help him in some way with his songwriting. Rumors are rumors though.

As usual, the media has probably blown this out of proportion and made it look like he's a nut. If the media has to take a stab at anything, it has to be the metal world.

Of course you'd be pissed off by it. But you'd learn to ignore it eventually.

Thats just my opinion though. It could be completely different.
Guess thats why you're asking Tracy..
Sorry.

Indeed man. I just sometimes think that articles sometimes emphasise this a lot and forget that they should concentrate on his music dunno...

I don't mind if it is used to bring awareness to the cause or to put the music in perspective. What does bother me is when people say or think that it was a publicity stunt and disregard that it is not an easy thing to admit to the world.

I think it bugs Devin a lot that people focus on it. However, I suppose a persona is important in this industry and I guess people see the live show and think that's what he is like always. It really couldn't be more opposite.

Right on Tracy! Offstage, Dev is such a chill dude. I'd love to just hang out with him one day, just to see what its like. Ooh, if only I could make THAT wish come true...
