March 21th 2005

Damn.... this has been a crazy month ! I focused soley on Non-Human Level (Christofer Malmstromfrom Darkane on guitar, Gustaf Hielm-ex-Meshuggah on Bass and Peter Wildoer-Darkanes drummer on vocals) this month. My drumtracks are completed and I'm very happy with the end result. We spent 3 days in Greenhouse Studio's from March 7th-9th. The first 3/4's of the first day was spent getting a killer drum sound, we only managed to track one song that day. The last 2 days we went hard and tracked the other 9 song's over some very long hours ! This is a session I won't forget anytime soon..... the end result was some kick ass drum takes, a few blisters and some drum video footage which I'll share with you all. Just go to my "Downloads" section and download the Non-Human Level Session to see some of the drumming I was doing. This 3 minute MPEG clip gives you a ballpark idea of what the drums will be like on this album. I hope you all enjoy it !

Next up, I'm going to start rehearsing with Russell Bergquist for his 5 song solo EP. I've heard all the material and it's fuckin' awesome. It's nothing like his ex-band Annihilator but very cool indeed. We plan on recording his solo debut within the next month or two. I'll keep you posted.....

Lastly, It's been a year to the day that I stepped into the studio to record the drumtracks for Vivien Lalu's "Oniric Metal" (being released on March 25th 2005). I did get some video footage of that session as well and will be working on another MPEG for you guy's to check out on my next update. Vivien's album has been recieving some rave reviews and I'm sure this album will do very well for him. If you dig creative, versatile Prog music......then this album is for you ! You can hear some brand new MP3 clip's from Viv's debut album in my "Downloads" section.... ENJOY ! Check back for the Vivien Lalu drumtrack video footage MPEG coming soon....

Very cool clip. It's inspiring really, you look like you honestly enjoy the work, that it's so much more than "work" itself, alot of drummers are very stagnant behind the kit and just go through the rounds. But yeah, good shit man, looking forward to hearing the album.

I finally got round to listening to this clip with sound, it some smokin' stuff Ryan! Will be awesome to hear the final mix of the album in comparison to seeing you do your thing in this clip.
