This is a song that has haunted me for a while. I guess this is about as proggy as I get.

Please leave feedback, even if you hate it.

Wise.

Glad to see you posting again, Wiseblud.

How's the recording process going with you ?

From what I see, it's going really good because the new track sounds catchy and it has lots of good energy.

Oh Crap, I posted the wrong version. This is the one with vox and the whole idea is pretty well rounded out. The first part is called dead man's float cause it was trying to capture the gentle floating underwater vibe.

Hey Van, thanks for the good words. Recording sux, mainly because I am the world's second worst guitarist. I am still better than Neil Young. :D Thank god for pitch correction software. Just found out that my guitar has some screwy intonation. So some solo's can wait, or I can just run it through the previously mentioned pitch correction software. I have about 2 hours a night to do all this because of the rugrats so its not a fast process, but it is coming along.

Hope everything is well with you my friend.

This version is even better. I like how the song slowly grows in the beginning.

Can't wait for the whole album but I know now, it's not going to be that easy... I just hope you'll find time to record the whole thing because from the two released tracks, looks like it's going to be a pearl in Jovian Litany's discography.

Have a good day ! :)

P.S. I'm doing well, my friend. Thank You, again for sharing your music with us.

Downloaded. Listening to it.

One question. Why the name "Jovian Litany" ?

Good question, I name my guitars. My first "real" guitar was a burgundy Epiphone Explorer that I named "Jove" which is an English term for Jupiter. A LOT of music was written on that guitar.

Getting to the "Litany" part, I read about the fact that Jupiter as a planet gives off quite a bit of radio noise, as shown here.

The sound of Jupiter reminded me (for some geeky reason) of planetary chanting. I thought Jovian chant wasn't quite as strong as Jovian Litany. It is one of those multi meaning names, where I just happened to have stumbled on a name that had personal significance to me. I originally wanted to call the project "Parity", but there were like 4 bands with that same name or a derivative, of it and I wanted to be totally unique, at least with the name.

As far as the final version of the song, I just added some ambient backing vocals that surprisingly made it sound a little like Type O, for some reason. Hope you enjoy. :guitar:

So... we can say that the planets are speaking through your music. That's cosmic stuff. I dig it.

Thanks for that answer. Now it means much more to me, what you are doing.
