The lasting effects of the red sun..

The debut offering from Brisbane’s Shellfin kicks off with a sample from Generation X’s answer to Cheech & Chong – Jay & Silent Bob. In keeping with this, the five tracks to follow are hits of stoner rocking goodness that go straight to the head. Channelling the ghost of genre-establishing legends Kyuss, the cuts on Stay For Tea are immediately endearing because they sound like the polished exerts from jams, governed by spontaneity and a devotion to the almighty riff. Flirting with a power trio rock & roll sound on tracks like Mud, more progressive song structures and pounding bass tones on The Extent Of It, Shellfin’s debut EP manages to avoid the trap of coming off as derivative Kyuss worship. A distinction that distances Stay For Tea from the myriad of stoner rock that achieves little more than bowing to the masters of the genre.

Brisbane's Shellfin doesn't soft peddle Kyuss' influence – they flat out state they were born from a mutual love of that seminal band – but to give credit where credit's due, it's not a slavish devotion. Sure, the group's approach, right down to the tone, is familiar enough, but the title track, “Mud,” and “Under the Ailing Sun” bring enough to the table to stand on their own. “Stay for Tea” in particular is a catchy, hard-hitting song, one that has the same sort of immediate accessibility of Unida or Dozer. The other two tracks, “7-8 Inches of Fist” and “The Extent of It,” have their moments but don't make much of an impression. As far as debuts go, this one has promise.

I've been looking and looking at Shell Oil antiques, can't find one with any other symbol on it. All 1930's with current symbol.
Jordan Maxwell said he actually contacted them and asked them and they confirmed it's a sunrise. Kinda figured he was right when I looked at those shells at the beach. None had a semi circle bit at the base.
And one of the sights with that pic you've put up was a free porn site lol.
