This time its also a drum test. I just bought the program Addictive Drums. I LOVE it. It's so much better than EZdrummer in every way. It sounds much more realistic and the snares dont suck anymore! They have thickness to them and sound real.

Also I changed the solo because I hated the other one.

Opinions!

EDIT: Also, I will be re-uploading a few other tracks with the new drums once I get the sound I've been looking for!

Thanks guys!

And I know, Josiah! I'm very very pleased with it because my drums actually sound close to real now. Plus Addictive Drums is soooo easy to use and soooo much faster than EZdrummer!

 Holy crap dude, i started playing the Rational Gaze cover and thought it was the actual song haha. You got the tone down perfect. However, the part at :28 is a bit off. Sounds like it needs more effects or something. The timing seemed ever so slightly off as well during the verses. i know youre probably not trying to make it exact, but its damn good anyway. i would like to know though, what are you using to record your guitar onto your computer?

Ah yea, the "cover" was more of a test when I first strung my 7 string like an 8 string. I found out since then that I, and everyone else, have been playing the verse riff wrong! Meshuggah themselves showed how to play it in a video session on some website and it made so much more sense to me!

I appreciate the compliments though! haha That song was done with my old Line 6 Toneport UX1...I think the tone is eh compared to my new tone on my Perpetual Black Second cover.

Once I get my desired snare sound I will be re-uploading a few songs including my PBS cover and possibly doing a complete Rational Gaze cover. Cool thing about that, I know how to play a damn good portion of the solo in RG almost note for note!

Now though, for my recordings, I use my Line 6 POD X3 Live for everything! Worth every penny.

Yeah i find Meshuggahs riffs and drums to be rather chaotic, but im sure if you break it down theres an intricate structure to them. i dont know much about the composition of music

Youre welcome for the compliments, they are well deserved. Gotta get me a pod and try to make some music of my own :D

Well, Meshuggah's stuff is literally structured chaos. All of their rhythms follow certain patterns, and if you ask them they will tell you they do not do that intentionally its just how their music comes out.

If you listen closely to Meshuggah's drums(and mine) you'll notice the kick drum follows the guitar's rhythms while the cymbals typically hold a typical 4/4 beat and the snare can be anywhere in between. And honestly despite what people say, Meshuggah's music IS all in 4/4.

I highly recommend getting a pod, XT or higher though. I personally LOOOOVE my X3 Live because it's good for jamming and recording. Awesome piece of equipment.

Purchased Superior Drummer 2 the other week. It rips EzDrummer a new ass. Check for some sound clips bro, the Avatar kit is amazing, and realistic:)

Nice effort there bro, bit of an unusual vowel sound on the rhythm guitar, might be my POS lappy speakers though:)

I have Superior 2.0. I just dont know if I will like it as much as Addictive, or if it will be as easy to use.

As for the guitar, It's a cheap ass Squire Baritone Strat I picked up at a pawn shop. I had to hard wire the bridge pickup to the input jack just so I could use that pickup. I like the way it sounds, through my amp at least. It gives it a thicker tone though my cab. But laptop speakers will definitely enhance the high end of this track.
