Post Your Pixel Clusters

(I tried the search and couldn't find anything like this, but if this has already been done just delete it... obviously)

We recently got a new Photography thread that everybody seems to like, so i didn't see why we couldn't start a new Artwork thread. There are obviously lots of talented artists on here, as seen in the cover contents and the 'Voices in the Fan' board, but there, everything is 'Fan Art'... so here is a place for people to show off their OTHER works of art.

Threads like these can get a bit inactive at times, because of the fact that people dont often churn out artwork day by day... so i wanna see all sorts of stuff here:

Doodles at college/uni/work
Random 2 minute things in Paint
Pictures on the forehead of your passed out drunken friend!

...right the way to month long projects that are completely inspiring... anything is welcome here

EDIT: ...I never really thought about 3D works!.. i was mostly thinking 2D stuff, but yeah, that is also welcome :)

I'll start with this:
Image

(it might be too wide for the forum for some people with smaller moniters... like mine... its chopping the right end off, so heres the full thing: http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d26/aden555/DigipakArtwork.jpg )

I did this quite recently, just for the sake of it. Its not gonna be used, i was just having fun in photoshop. Im really interested in album artwork, i'd love to get as good as some of the pro's... but that'll take loooaaads of time. Its nothing special, and its not going to exist... the songs are real titles of mine, but not the EP title...

It was mainly just manipulation of stock images... but eventually i'd love to be able to take the pictures myself first, travel around a bit and get some good pics to use, cus i never feel quite right using other peoples pictures... even if they were ones that i'd paid for... but i need to get a good camera + lens... and some actual photography skill first

But yeah, post away!

OOOH Pretty.

Here's a portrait sculpture I did before Christmas, I cleaned it up with sponges and paintbrushes before I cast it so it's not all lumpy now. (the photo in the background isn't the one I did by the way)

wow thats cool...

The last time i did clay stuff was, 4 years ago when i was 13. We had to make little heads, boring people made people, non-boring people made alien-freak things... they were cool. Never got to keep mine though :(

An ongoing project of mine is to create graphite portraits of all the best batman villains. Here are two of them(Joker and Two-Face):

The others are here: http://killyouinyoursleep.com/batman_villains/

Yay.

Holy Fucking Shit

They are incredible, especially Joker... seriously, amazing work

Where the hell did you learn that?!... or are you self taught?... and how long have you been doing it?

Really awesome art... I might steal you one day for album artwork :P

Thanks for compliments.
I am self-taught but lazy. Since birth.
Non-batman work at: http://www.thereisnolove.com
Although, it should be said that any artwork that is non-Batman suffers from a condition known as "Lack-Of-Batman." It is cured only by Batman injection. You may want to read an issue of detective comics while perusing my non-Batman work.

Aden - am I allowed to show my self-designed T-shirts here? I'm not sure if they fit into the thread or not. Plus, they are not as good as the other stuff that's on here so far....

lol of course you can... don't need to ask for my permission

I did intend for this to be artwork like, paintings or photoshop, but thats only cus it didnt really cross my mind we could have 3D works and other things too... like T-shirts :)

So just post whatever you want, except photographic art, cus theres already one for that...

Cool, thanks! Now I have to make some...just kidding! I've a big back-catalogue. This is my favourite so far. The beading took ages to do on this one.

I'm a little confused. What's going on in that second shirt? Are you being attacked by some green monster?!

Love them both though! Great work. Those beads look mighty fiddly. Well done!

Thanks guys!

Whenever I've explained that second shirt it sounds like I've gone completely barmy...but....the idea was based on the whole 'alien coming out of the stomach' thing. I wanted it to look like I was wearing a Led Zep Tshirt with a wormhole ripping through the design, and an alien at the other end of the 'wormhole' sticking his tentacles into the real world and strangling me. (There's also a second large tentacle around the back of the shirt that I tucked into the back pocket of my jeans).

I think I may simplify the design to just a wormhole with the alien 'inside' rather than the Led Zep design. It might be easier to see. I'll just re-attach the tentacles to the new shirt. I've another idea forming along the lines of this shirt....the monster on the new one will be purple and fluffy, and probably have googly eyes and puppet-style movable arms.

Aaaah, I see. That sounds awesome! I think that that photo does not do it justice. Do you have any more?

Very creative design though!

Sadly the only other ones I have of that T-shirt (so far) are from the same angle and show even less of the design. My other half has a phobia of taking photos of me for some reason so often I'm short of decent pics of the t-shirts. I'll be wearing the streamlined version of the tentacle T-shirt in September, but once it's finished I'll take some photos of it myself and put them up here before then.
