The third full-length Swimfail album. Why start a thread about it before I've even finished it? Because being a pompous ass is practically the theme of the album. Well, that, and the fact that I'd have to start a topic when it's out anyway. Might as well start posting early with some info and Hot Trax(tm).

Hey, cool thread!

Just listening to faux pas....is that some real drums I hear? Awesome! And your new bass perhaps? Double awesome? I love your shouted vocals, they are really cool.

Please update this thread with your progress on this album regularly.

Only one awesome actually, cause those drums are still programmed. They sample real drums though (the closed 'ticky' hihat is a loop and the snare is real), and that is indeed my new bass, so... One and a half measures of awesome?

Aaah, well I could definately hear that the sample was real. I think that qualifies for a whole dollop of awesome! I am interested to what you will end up doing beatwise with your new kit, given that you can program excellent drums already. You could come up with some pretty crazy mixtures of real and not-so-real beats.

So far this sounds like the most ambitious thing you have done so far. Really great groove to the song and I really love the various noises and details in here. I will need to listen again tomorrow I think though, as it is getting a bit late and I am a bit knackered. Seems like you have raised the bar again!

All the music is 100% finished and recorded! All that's left now is recording some interlude bits between songs and then mastering the whole thing. Just waiting for my new headphones to arrive since mine finally kicked the bucket (my fault, the plug that I accidentally bent ages ago stopped working for good). Should be out in a matter of weeks

Whew, finally done with traveling for the year, so I can finish this one at last. I'm working on the mastering right now, and aiming for a September 16th release.
