I haven't made a song in a while, it's kind of syl meets dtb with a little dream theater thrown in. It's called "irakuy" Tell me what you think. You can download it at the myspace site for a better quality version also.

That was wicked, man! Seriously enjoyed that. Awesome tone on the guitar and bass, and I dug the samples from 2001 as well...
Keep it up. Can't wait to hear more. :D

Very good. The guitar and bass-sound is indeed quite nice, and I like the synth solo at the end.
There's a few bends, which are a little off, and the arrangement is a little sloppy, which makes it untight. If there would be a little less going on in the song, I think it would have more impact and character.

Yeah Tightness is key- gets progressively better towards the end...You definitely know what you're doing when it comes to guitar- Kudos

Hey thanks alot guys, yeah the bend at around 1:16 makes me cringe some it's flat but i liked what i played up to then so i didn't redo, i think i should though. It was my first song in open c. I've never played in it before so the open c leads were a new experience for me, but it was really fun.

listened to it again, and you know what i thought about? this place: http://www.ocremix.org/
if you don't know it yet, dig around for a while, it's a fantastic collection of rearranged and remixed video game music. some of the folx over there have a similar approach to rock/metal as you, and your way of writing melodies reminds me a lot of older rpg and shoot'em up-games.
maybe you'll give it a try once. would be cool to hear your version of, say, chrono trigger, r-type or stuff like that.
