I used to do this sometimes with various musicians friends on the net where we'd all go on yahoo messenger from time to time ad all play for each other over the mics...anyone up for that at any point?

Hmm... Totally no equipment. But since I've always wanted to connect my guitar with my pc... A real-stupid-total-beginner-question: What do I need?? Seriously, I always said I wanted to give it a try, but I was too lazy and never took the time to even inform me a bit more, so... If someone could give me some advice, that would be nice.

Haha wow I've never thought of jamming like that. You can eaither get a really crappy mic and plug it in through the mic input on your PC or get an adapter plug to go straight from your amp/guitar into the PC. A crappy mic is probally the simplest way to go though.

You can't actually jam, but everyone can play a little and stuff, it used to be pretty fun.

Either a crappy mic will work, or your old friend the 1/8th inch jack adapter

You can't jam, that's what I was saying, but everyone I know who does it just refers to them as yahoo jams...just a chance for evryone to play to each other and chat in a relaxed environment

i used to do that on yahoo a lot but now that there are no user rooms in yahoo chat theres no community for it. and by far the best sounding and easiest way to do it is thru a pod or j-station or similart device going direct into your soundcard, it sounds amazing.
