So now I have the better mix of Suicide up there and also the original tune that I wrote for the Devy tribute CD.

Will the Dev Tribute CD ever see the light of day? No need to mention that it would kick SO much ass *both fingers crossed*

Btw Greg, what made you choose Suicide as a cover? Besides the reason that it ROCKS

I really loved that song from when I first heard it (Tracy posted it as a teaser at mp3.com prior to AE's release) and at the time, a lot of people I knew were paying out on AE because it isn't as good as Infinity, Terria and OM... I understand that it is not his best effort, but songs like Suicide, Deadhead and Storm rule so I figured I'd choose an AE song.

Also, it covers mental and emotional territory I have been in and so I knew I could sing it with conviction.

As fr the tribute ever seeing the light of day.......No, I really doubt it. But now we can get our cover versions posted on the official Hevy Devy website thanks to Geoff and his loveliness! (see his sticky at the top of this forum) so that sorta makes up for it. I mean, the whole idea of the tribute disk was to raise money for Dev when HD headquarters flooded, but that has been and gone so the point is somewhat lost now.

To me AE is more laid-back and not as "loaded" as ie Infinity... But yeah, that makes it just a "different" album, not a "worse" one, right. The songs on AE speak for themselves.

Didn't know why the idea of the tribute was born, thx for letting me know. I think some of the musicians around here - maybe you included - mainly wanna let the Dev know how much his music means to them and wanna put a smile on his face with giving him the oppurtunity to listen to their versions of his songs... So yeah, now that Geoff decided to post these songs on the HDR site this can happen without putting all the effort into the work on a tribute CD which maybe won't come out. Dev's fanbase isn't that big (although he'd deserve it, but that's another topic) and at least for a start, putting coverversions on the HDR site is a great way of sharing these songs

Fantastic job on all the tracks Greg. I really enjoy your music, it's totally in the same vein as Dev, and that equals greatness. Specially the song Sparrow, thats just freaking awesome.

Wow, that's a big call, thank you.... I like to listen to music that surrounds you, so I try to do big productions with lots of detail. I'm looking forward to getting this album done...
