I've also been thinking about getting a 7-string, and the SC-607 is definitely one option. Another choice I've been looking at is the Schecter C-7 Blackjack ATX, which has Seymour Duncans, and a properly placed neck pickup :D

That Blackjack is really nice, im not really ready to move onto a 7 so im gonna stick with a 6 till i can play well. but i like the low tuneings so its inevitable that i will end up with one

I'm inclined to agree with whoever it was said in another thread that teh 7-string is becoming a bit of a oneupmanship instrument. I'm more inclined towards that doubleneck Paul Gilbert has which has two 6-string necks, one normal, one with 3 pairs of strings tuned at octaves IYKWIM.

Mind you I'm a way off being able to play either like Dev or Paul Gilbert so it is a little bit of a moot point.

I'm no virtuoso, either, but the PGM300 I used to have was the best sounding, easiest playing guitar I've ever owned. I should have never sold it.
