I suppose I'd like to have one song be recorded and out and enjoyed. I'd prefer an entire album, but one song would be nice. Oh, and all the instruments and singing by me. Not because I'm an egomaniac, but if I'm going to be known for one song, I'd like for it to be all my doing.

It's a difficult one. I'm not even sure i'd like to make music full time and perform it.

For a start there would be limited market for the kind of sprawling pointless stuff I do and I really can't play live at all. I think the ultimate goal is to make a demo EP and leave it at that

I would like to give the whole band thing a go in the future though as an attempt, just not covering Green Day songs like most people.

Very good question and while it has always changed one thing has always remained.

I always said that one should play music for themselves first and foremost so no matter how my other musical goals have changed, that one will always stay in tact.

When I first started playing, I had humble aspirations of simply playing live and releasing an album. It made me then raise the standards of my goals but at the end of the day, if I'm not happy with making music myself then there's no point. So now all other goals have become futile unless I'm content with just sitting in my room with my accoustic guitar.

While it would be nice to host RAGE (aussies will understand) or play a national tour or have enough cash to keep me living comfortably, I still love playing guitar in my room and value that more so.

(playing a festival with Faith No More, DTB, SYL, Primus, Kyuss and Pink Floyd would be nice... chuck in The Doors as well).

Actually, I'd seriously love to backup Metallica only because we'd get destroyed by the fans wanting to see Metallica. I'd revel in it.

I figure much like I've seen other say, to find people I mesh with and can understand me as much as I understand them. Success is something you trade the rest of your life for more or less it seems. Something along the lines of just seeking out the best of the best...like an army... you don't care about who they are as much as you care what they can do. It sucks that way hahaha

I'd rather find people I mesh well with and make some cool music. But it seems most people I know don't want to share, or are afraid to share...or critisize for that matter.

True, its always good to have good people to play with. When you find a different player you gel with it makes it that much more enjoyable.

Tell me about it...I was jamming with a buddy the other day, I hadn't been able to jam with him since his band got really big and he took off. I finally was able to catch up with him and I was impressed to see how nice a guy he still was...and we started jamming and it was like instant respect for one another and things kinda just came out right. I smiled while jamming something out instead of frowned...imagine that haha

Drummer in our band is only 16 but he and I (bass) have a great connection. Because its so easy to play music with him I then find it easy to write with him aside from jamming. But quite often, music feels best when we just improv.

I improve too fast... or differently...I dunno I have different forms of thinking I guess. Like I said when I jammed with that dude it was cool, but...when I played stuff I wanted to, it was too quick, too many time changes, not enough understanding. And I don't blame them, its very jutting at times...but even when I play normal based stuff, I still think different than most people I sit down and try to jam with. Drummers and singers don't follow...and it's not like I'm superman, it's just...I dunno :) I thought the shit was easy to write towards hahaha

To write a something that makes people say out loud "holy shit".

My recent recordings have done so.
Before 1:00 of the song is done, there are two tempo changes (from 250bpm to 170bpm and vice versa) and about 12 different time Signatures, some of them are in the same riff.

I love that sort of thing.

Ultimately i do it for my own satisfaction though.

to improve my chops, eventually earn enough money for a new amp and guitar. after that, perhaps form some kind of rock or metal band, and gain the courage to play in front of people...

^^ I do too :D

I've actually developed some desire again. Wrote a couple of little bits this morning that I was actually pleased with and can see developing into something...the world has gone mad!
