Everyone has to be missing something, whether it be a person, a lost item, childhood TV show, discontinued product...

I really, really miss the discontinued Uncle Toby's Grinners cereal. Probably unnaturally so. Every time I go to the supermarket I have to scan the cereal aisle just in case...

Though I'll probably sound dead morose when I add this, but:

1) I miss the general day-to-day company of a person. I have one, but they are unfortunately elsewhere
2) Having spent most of my childhood travelling, it's left me with 'itchy feet'- constantly feeling as though I should be moving on. I miss the change.
3) Speaking of cereal, I miss those Lucky Charms (I think you can still get them in the US) and Golden Grahams, because they were epic.
4) As daft as it sounds, I do miss my mum seeing as I don't live with her. When I did, we were at each other's throat every day so I guess that's a good thing.
5) I'll keep this short, as I could go on forever. Lastly, I miss my college years getting wasted and having the best of times every other day/night. Damn my stupid job/age/responsibilities for getting in the way of that now.

My SNES, and favorite game on that system, Super Metroid. To be young again...

This will be a thread people keep coming back to, I think. xD

1) Playing in a band. I miss the creation of music with other people, and the rushing of playing it to an audience.
2) College. Structured days and free studios to play in and record in. Admitidly, I can record and play at home, but I lack the structure.

my mum - she was my best friend and died a bit more than a year ago... i miss her for being my mum and friend, but i also miss the feeling she, or her "presence" always gave me. don't know really how to put that...

i also miss having the amount of energy i used to have...

* The innocence that comes from being a child. M'so jaded nowadays.
* All the cats I've loved & lost.
* America (just a tiny weeny bit and mostly just the horrid nasty junk foods)
* My breakfast
* My mum (she lives around 3 hours from me and I don't drive.)
* Being thin
* Cherry Coke (should probably just come under 'America', but miss this more than the country)
* School, oddly enough.
* THE DEV! He needs to come play in NZ again lol.

Doesn't make me sound whiny at all, really. *coughs delicately*

I miss my childhood, I guess just about everyone does. Everything was much easier when you were a kid, I suppose that has a lot to do with the fact that kids are naive and don't take anything too serious and in general appreciate the little things much more.

my grandparents, especially my grandpa. Was one of the most beloved people in my life.

some friends that I parted ways with for reasons that I don't even remember anymore.

the amount of discipline that I had untill not long ago.

being able to have a drink and a smoke once in a while

Without a doubt, my grandmother. She taught me how to read and write, she cared for me after school, fostered my creativity, always listened, and provided nothing but love. She saved a little bit of money for my college education, and she was the one who pushed me towards academic success.

I would not be the person I am today without her sense of love for family, and light flippant humor about just the struggles and absurdities of everyday life.


I miss you Grandma, you taught me everything that mattered.

- Yep, friends. Always was rubbish in making friends and these few I had moved far away - and, coincidentally, they're last people on earth that are crap in communicating over the internet. Either that, or I was morbidly boring mate and they're avoiding me. As far as making new ones go - read Amber's post.

- Value of even tiniest shred of information. Do you remember the times when even most nonsensical urban legend was cricling over the world for ages without being debunked, because google and snopes didn't exist yet? Or finding particularly awesome illustration in book, once in a year find? Some books were like relics back then - not because of their collectors value, but because of things inside. Thanks to that the world of 20th century felt like something off medieval map - half of it was still "here be dragons" really. In theory you could find lots of things in the local library or in your own encyclopaedia - but unfortunately only encyclopaedias I had were grossly outdated an library was used mainly for fetching paperback editions of Clifford Simak's novels. All gone forever, any kind of explanation or giant stacks of formerly rare stuff are available two clicks away. Thanks to mr Google I'm almost omniscient now. That's kind of boring.

Not sure about the old 8-bit stuff. I think I've quenched my nostalgia with emulators - loading game in an Atari emulator is a lot less annoying than loading game from a tape drive on a real computer . Same with the childhood - yeah, naivety, being carefree and all that, but if I think about it for a moment I spent most of my childhood stockpiling insecurities and being anxious without apparent reason. Not sure if I'd want to repeat all of that.

I definitely miss playing in a band, especially performing in front of a crowd. There really is no feeling that compares.

Every now and again, I miss my hair. Not that I would ever grow it out again, but having the option would be nice. lol

I am getting more terrified of this reality. I've always had exceptionally thin hair, and thus I know I'm living on borrowed time. Seriously, I used to get told by other kids I was going bald when I was 15, it's like, no shit, I'm well aware of it. Though it seems like my hair's been more or less the same since my teen years with only some slight thinning, I know it's coming.

I dunno if there was some sort of draw to Dev's music on a subconscious level since he was balding pretty early on himself, but I'd like to think to make that connection.

Yeah, I started losing my hair pretty early, and definitely noticeable at 19. By 20 I had lost quite a bit. I used to have long hair, but the skullet thing didn't appeal to me. I am a year older than Dev, so this was pre-Dev skullet, so I had no one I could point to and say "See? Skullets are badass!" lol

Much to the dismay of my hair-metal band at the time, I shaved it off. Been shaving it ever since, and honestly, I think that out of all the hair styles I have ever worn, this one is my favorite. I don't mind being bald. It runs on both sides of the family, so I always knew I didn't have a chance. The actual balding process I hated, though. It just always looked like crap. What little hair I had on top was wispy and uncontrollable. If it all just fell out overnight, it would be great. lol

I do miss long hair sometimes, though. I miss the way that women used to always want to play with it, run their fingers through it, braid it, whatever. When I had it, it was great hair. *sigh*

It's kind of weird, but even after so many years of shaving my head completely bald, when the wind blows I can sometimes "feel" my hair moving. Phantom hair? Also, anytime I look down, I'll move my hands behind my ears like I used to do to pull my hair out of the way. lol
