Does anyone here have that good feeling that you get when you give someone your music? Especially when you think they'd like your music. I know I do, I even get a bit aggravated if that person doesn't listen to the music anytime soon after they get it.

I started getting my brother into Devin Townsend few weeks back after showing him the clip of avatar Trailer with Supercrush on audio. And he doesn't listen to a lot of screaming metal, death metal or any of that deep heavy stuff. Just the mainstream stuff like Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Slipknot, he almost got close to Lamb Of God. Now he says Devin Townsend screaming is the only kind that he likes best :D . Thats good enough for me haha.

I know the feeling in which you are describing. I try to introduce my friends and my brother to new music every so often (although it's tough to impress my brother...he's a bit of a prog-rock-jazz snob). I don't get offended if they don't listen to the music right away or even if they don't like it at all, I'm just happy when they do hear something that blows them away. I've converted my one friend into a Dev fan, and even got my brother to geek out over Ziltoid's DFH usage. It is a cool feeling to introduce something to someone that they appreciate on the same level you do...same goes for recommending movies or new foods, etc. If they don't enjoy something, at least you gave it a shot. Different strokes...

My boyfriend listens to things like The Pixies and The Mountain Goats and PJ Harvey, etc.

But he actually quite likes Dev's music too -- came with me to the concert, enjoyed the concert - and doesn't say a word when I listen to the discography (at least what I have of it currently) on repeat...

So yeah, that makes me feel good. And I introduced one of my workmates to Dev's music also. She wasn't keen on Ki (she likes heavier stuff) but she loves Addicted! :D For me it's nice when people take to music I introduce them to. It gives me something to relate to them with...usually there's not much. ;)
