Old Man's child sound like devy?

k so i was listening to old man's child when i fell upon the song path of destruction. when for some reason the intro about 0 to 50 seconds in reminded me of a devin townsend song.

The melody sounds vaguely like the vocal line in "Kingdom" ("I, I wonder why I wonder," etc.), but other than that I didn't get much from it. The chords and everything are very different.

They moved in a new direction on the new album. Less black metal, more death metal. More subtle synths/keys. Plus Peter Wildoer laid down some ridiculous drums on it.
