Eggs in the kettle...

I've luckily just caught my bloke putting eggs in my kettle. Thankfully, I removed them and bollocked him before he switched it on...
After a good few words, he told me he'd been pondering it for days whether you could boil an egg in the kettle (runny eggs & soilders-like) and thought he'd try it out. Sadly, he has no social or survival skills.
Not in my fucking kettle he isn't.
After a quiet moment, I thought if you put some stickytape onto the kettle switch to hold it down for about 3:30-4mins without it blowing up it actually is possible.
What would you guys consider the best way to boil an egg?
P.S, As you can probably tell, I'm a bit fed up.

My mum has mentioned this technique before, and yes, you do need to hold the switch down.
You can also steam fish in the dishwasher, if you are fortunate enough to have one. A dishwasher I mean, not a fish.
My technique is to use a pan of boiling water. Shocking really.

Place the eggs in a saucepan and cover with water. Season with a pinch of salt. Place the pan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Cook for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and cover with a lid. Allow the eggs to sit for 11 minutes. Drain and cool the eggs for 2 minutes in ice water. Drain and peel the eggs.

Shocking indeed. Too logical!
I heard about the fish/dishwasher thing a while back, they also give horse stirrups and other silver an awesome shine.
I thought about it whilst watching the Aldi advert with Phil Vickery. Kudos to Fern Britton, if my husband was a chef I'd have weighed a couple of tonnes more than she did.

I get the water boiling then I turn it down so it's still bubbling steadily but not going crazy. Boil the eggs for 5 or 6 min? Put them in a glass w/ cold water, or run them under the tap until I can hold them without burning myself. Then I peel them to eat/make egg salad, or I just wrap them up and in a clean dish towel and put them in the fridge for later. I'm impatient. I wouldn't mess with the kettle if it's electric, that'd be such a hassle to clean. Stovetop kettles... isn't it just a pot with a spout?

If I were Heston Bluementhal (I wish), I would probably boil them in a swimming pool full of vibrating bees, before throwing it at somebody holding a plate of toast

I think that's one of the best methods I've ever heard.

I like making them in the microwave. Seriously, put eggs in your microwave. The results are fantastic. No explosions or anything!

What you should do is rig some plugging to the inside of a microwave, and boil the kettle inside the microwave, which in turn would be warming the kettle more. And then you can throw an egg in when its all nicely toasty.
No explosions x 2, boiledness x 1939352930.
winRAR guaranteed.
