talking with my good friend 'phies, i convinced her of getting herself a facebook thingie

since this is already a community of sorts, i was wondering who else in this godforsaken hellish forum has a FB account?

and what do you use it for?

I use it for communication. NO SHIT SHERLOCK

Finding old friends. I lost contact with a lot of people i've met over the years and went to school with. Facebook is so easy to search for people on.

I started a Ziltoid group with 800 members:D

I hate to say it but I love facebook because it has helped me get in contact with a lot of wonderful people that I now have in my life because of it. I also found out about some kick ass events from face book too.

now heres a cheesy story about how I found my boyfriend on facebook.

My boyfriend Matt and I use to hang out all the time when we were 12. We would tell eachother how in love we were and would talk on the phone for hours everyday. Then I lost contact with him when we both moved and we always tried to find eachother but with no luck. I never did forget him because 11 years later he was still on my mind and I searched him on facebook and found him! I added him right away and sent him a message telling him my phone number. He called me right away, we went on a date two days later and have been inseperatable ever since. Its just like a cheesy chickflick! This is why I love facebook so much it helped me find the love of my life.

FB also tells me when there are gonna be concerts in my town and theres groups about all kinds of interesting things.

Yes, I resisted setting up an account for quite sometime (sorry, 'Coes ). I figured there was absolutely NO point in me having a webpage, but in just 2 days I'm back in touch with best friends from high school and college whom I'd lost track of.

Mmm, also, there are the "music" pages. Added Pain of Salvation and found updates and pics of them recording for their new album, which was LE awesome!

over here, facebook is pretty much necessary...]

everyone coordinates events like birthday parties over facebook in favor of calling you 90% of the time! plus i mean it's a much easier way of doing things...

it's so good for finding old friends, too, and seeing what they're up to. people tend to upload vacation photos onto facebook before they put them anywhere else

Same here...

On the one hand, it is a sort of information black hole, but on the other it is really useful for coordinating lots of folk.

I don't like it but I probably need it.

And Beanie - That made be cheesy, but it made me aww nonetheless You find great people in the most unexpected of places. I met mine (Also called Matt, haha.) Because I thought my train station was on fire. I think thats fairly random.
