Reccomend me some metal...

I am in need of some new metal to listen to. I want it to have some, if not all, of the following:

Growling
Badass heavy riffage
Melodic stuff
Lyrics that aren't horribly offensive (I don't really mind them, but my parents do)
Fast vocal delivery
Awesome screams

I dunno, is that all to specific? Another thing I want is a band like Opeth, except with shorter songs, or a band like Dethklok, except not a cartoon and having good vocals.

Twelve Tribes pretty much fits into every one of those categories. Give them a shot. If you dont like them let me know.

The Amenta

Behemoth

Not all that melodic, though.

There's a couple! :)

It would help to know what bands you're already into.

First of all, I recommend a dictionary ;)

And after that... You're looking for Devildriver my friend.
Textures, Between The Buried And Me, Sikth, Smaxone, Non-Human Level, Chimaira, Scar Symmetry, Daath, Underthreat, Hacride... OK now I'm just plugging some favourites of mine :P

Bloodbath! The new Bloodbath, Unblessing The Purity is a good one if you want growls and riffing.

Aye, Bloodbath would be great if you like growls! No one growls like Mikael Akerfeldt!

Lamb of God, A Life Once Lost and Darkane.

Scar Symmetry has stellar guitar work, just look at the dudes

I'm not too keen on sugary chorus parts, though.

Oh and Cannibal Corpse sounds (but looks nothing) like this:

Oh by the way, what's the problem with offensive/obscene lyrics? You're not going to understand them anyway ;)

If I'm playing a song with offensive lyrics at full blast and my parents hear, I get in trouble. That's happened to me before with "Fucker."

Oh, and metal bands I like already:

Opeth
Into Eternity
Dream Theater
Symphony X
Dethklok
Strapping Young Lad (well duh)

See, I need more heavyness. Oh, and Scar Symmetry kicks ass, I listened to "The Illusionist" and it was really cool. I'll probably be buying whatever record that song is on. I like Bloodbath too, Mikeal looked so different onstage, like he was a whole different person.

create a last.fm account and the process of finding new bands of your liking will become much easier

Agalloch. Especially check out their album called "Ashes Against the Grain." Amazing.
