Surprised this hasn't been posted here yet-- saw it on another forum I frequent:

Fucking triplets.
Sounds a bit like "I" to me, which makes me really excited for the album. STUPID compression, though. Hope it's a bit less squashed on the final product.

After hearing this I really really can't wait to hear obZen.. I can, however, wait to see it! The artwork for the album is absolutely awful! Anybody else think this or is it just me..?

'tis horrid indeed
then again, its the music that counts
ps: holy shizzle, this new song is actually good! and it only took them four years to come up with it

Way better then their latest efforts, really... i love this new shit, more straight forward.
I don't like how low the vocals are mixed in though, and the compression is a bit weird, it's like they put a multiband compressor on the master track and scooped quite some mid out of it.
Cool song though, should be a great live song.

sounds like a webrip to me, i imagine the finished product will sound a lot heavier.

It is a webrip. There isnt an official mp3 out there yet.
There are about 5 different versions on the Meshuggah forum right now. This is the most recent and actually best sounding one. I highly doubt the final version will sound like this.
From what people said who went to the listening party for obZen in LA the album has a production similar to I and Catch 33.

just try to listen to it from laptop speakers
Still, sounds great.
I can't wait to hear proper mp3s!
Or the whole album
definetly sounds better than C33.

Very
I-ish indeed. Which is a good thing because it's the only good song Meshuggah ever made
Sometimes it actually sounds to me as if they tried to re-do it. The intro, the soft "plonk-ploinky" bit in the middle, that suddenly gets all heavy again.
The overall sound of it is just horrible though. Not just because it's a web-rip, the guitars seem to sound "hollow" to me.

Lol, manly Meshuggah songs go from creepy clean part to insanely heavy!

Sounds better than anything on Catch 33. Something about that album just didn't tickle my fancy per say.
I was surprised this was aired on the radio, which radio station was it? Does anyone know?

Sounds good.
I've yet to be disappointed by "the 'shug". Loved Catch 33, Chaosphere, and Nothing. Sounds like Chaosphere + Catch 33 to me. Pretty sweet.

The guitars probably sound hollow due to the fact that it was a rip from a radio station. They compress the hell out of everything.
I'm pretty confident that when the CD comes out, it's gonna sound pretty sick... especially if Daniel Bergstrand engineered it.

That has to be the best stuff I have ever heard from Meshuggah. In short...amazing.
